Sean looked over at Melody and nodded. "Let's go," he said. The two less experienced Dreamweaver's followed them. They bounced off the small sticky material covering the hole.
"It's like glue but not like a spider's web," Melody said as she bounced up and down on it.
Faye looked back, annoyed at Melody. "You need to stop playing around. It's there for a limited time. If you don't want to die, keep moving."
Sean and Melody ran forward as quickly as they could. The walkway curved and then upward as they saw the wreckage of springs and different materials from the walls that would have led to their certain death.
Sean's eyes widened as he noticed Percy duck underneath and slide underneath a glove. Sean liked what he saw. He admired Percy's movements and wished he could have manifested a sword for himself, but they weren't to have any weapons, according to what Melody told him in the letter.
"Good, you two come here. There shouldn't be any more traps," Faye said with a smile. We took care of them all.
"Great," Percy said, wiping his hands together. "This time, it's good to get a break from the more complex cases. I can really let loose to be more relaxed."
Melody and Sean looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders, thinking the same thing. They were terrified of falling into pits, and trying to run on the walls and keeping up with them was almost a meaningless task.
Percy walked up, and he opened the door revealing a large open area. It looked like a meadow of sorts, but it had different toys in it. Rocking horses and clapping monkeys were among the grass. Everything seemed to be illuminated by a faint light in the distance. A strange language was spoken by the warped toys, and their faces swung about slowly as if in anguish.
Sean looked at the possessed toys, and then he looked back at Percy and Faye for an answer.
This is what happens when a demon takes hold of one's consciousness. Sean tried to focus as he observed the demented toys.
"If possible, we try not to destroy anything in the dream world. We're here to kill a demon, but there are times where collateral damage happens," Percy stated.
The meadow was bright with flowers, and it looked like the flowers were crying.
Melody bent down and looked at the flower. "What's wrong?"
"My mom said I can't play unless I master a math problem, and I'm scared. I'm nervous," the flower said.
Sean looks at the flower, its seedy mouth moved back and forth. "Don't worry, kid, we're gonna make it all right," he affirmed.
Percy looked back at the two who talked to the flower. "Wait, you two can help."
I'm delighted you can help me, but it would be better for me if you died instead!" The flower expanded tenfold in size, its face expanded, and a slimy tongue emerged from between its teeth. Melody was snatched by the flower and flung into the air.
"Help me!" Melody screamed.
What do I do! I don't have a weapon, so I will go bare-knuckle. "You bastard, let her go!" He ran forward and punched the flower right into its chest. The flower bounced back its tongue, letting go of Melody in midair.
"I've got her," Faye said, leaping into the air and landing a few feet in front of the oversized weed.
"Thank you," Melody wept.
"No problem," Faye said as she put her on the ground.
"You two stand back," Percy yelled. Running forward, he swung his blade severing the legs of the flower.
The flower then magically shrunk, laying on its back in the grass.
"Where did it go?" Sean looked around, but the giant flower was nowhere to be found.
"Behind you," Faye yelled.
Sean turned around to see the massive flower grow back in front of him, its teeth bared toward him. "Oh my god," Sean yelled. Sean slid underneath the flower, narrowly escaping the razor-sharp leaves barreling toward him.
Percy ran forward and put his sword in between the teeth of the flower, turned it sideways and slit its mouth open. The flower let out a wild screech as it wobbled back and forth.
"Faye, do it."
"You got it," Faye said with a smile.
Faye looked at Melody with reassurance, and then she ran forward, leaping into the air.
"We're going to get it before it shrinks back down," Percy yelled.
"You got it," Faye nodded as she did a front flip and barreled the heel of her right foot into the head of the flower.
Percy ran up underneath the beast and slid his sword, cutting up toward the mouth of the flower. The flower screamed and disappeared into ashes.
