Chapter 49 - Chapter 48: Kakashi Hatake: Unless the Hokage Has Gone Mad

"Those two, are they sick?"

"Yes."

"I've seen the one walking on his hands, but where did the other one come from?"

"How should I know? Is it contagious? So scary."

"Don't look, don't look, my eyes hurt."

Facing the faint whispers of discussion, Musashi and Might Guy acted as if they heard nothing.

To practice the ninja way of Youth, they were already accustomed to such criticism.

A true ninja has a powerful heart; how could they be affected by the gossip of others?

After delivering Musashi home and agreeing to train together once he recovered, Might Guy, feeling not fully satisfied, stood on his hands again. This time, he moved even faster than when he came.

Izumi Uchiha packed up Musashi's things and cleaned the room.

"Izumi, there are a few spare quilts in the closet, just take them out," Musashi said.

Izumi's face changed slightly, showing a flustered panic.

"Get... get quilts for what?"

"To sleep, of course."

"What sleep? I'm going home with Aoi," Izumi said in a panic.

"Go home my ass," Musashi almost rolled his eyes.

"I say, woman, can you stop being so confident all the time?"

"The Uchiha district has been sealed off. Don't tell me you didn't know. Do you dare let Aoi return to a place like that?"

"Hurry up, take the quilts and make the bed. I'm a patient, I need the bed. You sleep wherever you find the floor comfortable. If it weren't for Aoi, I wouldn't bother with a confident woman like you."

Hearing Musashi's blunt words, Izumi actually breathed a sigh of relief.

Of course, the original Uchiha district was uninhabitable now.

The smell of blood probably wouldn't dissipate for a long time.

Aoi was very clingy to Musashi now, the kind where she'd be scared and unable to sleep if she left him.

So they could only stay with him temporarily.

Finding a reason for herself in her heart, Izumi said, "Then... then let's do this for now. Once Aoi adapts for a while and the village arranges a place for us, we'll move out."

Musashi said, "Whatever."

The land belonged to the village. Just like how the clan district was zoned to the outskirts back then, now that the Uchiha district was unusable, the village would arrange new housing for them.

As for the Uchiha's property and inheritance, naturally, the Third and the higher-ups would enthusiastically sort it out before handing it over to them.

Aoi was very happy to stay with Big Brother Musashi. Looking around the small room here and there, she felt it was much more interesting than her original house.

Although the place was far less spacious than their original home, for a child, being with people she liked was the most important thing.

The three of them lived together like this.

After a while, the village arranged a new residence for the three remaining Uchiha.

Unlike where Naruto Uzumaki lived, the new Uchiha residence was in the bustling center of the village.

Izumi dragged a reluctant Aoi to the new place.

"Sister, let's keep living at Big Brother Musashi's house, okay?" Aoi's big eyes were filled with tears.

"No," Izumi easily saw through the little munchkin's acting. "Aoi, stop fussing. Big Brother Musashi is a boy, and Big Sister is a girl. We can't live together all the time."

"But Mom and Dad lived together?" Aoi looked innocent.

"That's different." Not wanting to explain such complex logic to her sister, Izumi said, "Besides, you also have a brother named Sasuke. Now there are only three of us left in the clan, we need to be together and take care of each other."

"I don't want to, I don't want Sasuke, I want Big Brother Musashi."

"Listen, Aoi. If you behave, I can take you to Big Brother Musashi's place often. If you don't behave, I'll never take you there again." Izumi put on her big sister authority, finally stopping Aoi's crying.

She just occasionally muttered, Really, wouldn't it be fine if Sister and Big Brother Musashi lived together like Mom and Dad? So annoying.

Three months later, Musashi, who had fully recovered but kept delaying, was finally dragged away by Kakashi Hatake.

"Although Lord Hokage said you must recover fully, Musashi, as a ninja, you must have the awareness of a ninja. You can't keep slacking off like this!"

Thus, Musashi's peaceful training days ended.

This scene happened to be witnessed by Might Guy.

When he saw Musashi walking with Kakashi Hatake, Might Guy was very happy.

"Yo! Kakashi, Musashi, you're together."

"How about it? Such nice weather, want to have a youthful contest!"

"Guy, next time. I'm taking Musashi to the Anbu base," Kakashi Hatake declined.

"Eh? To the Anbu? Taking Musashi to the Anbu for what?" Might Guy asked curiously.

"Oh, the Hokage specially recruited Musashi into the Anbu to execute missions with me from now on," Kakashi said casually.

Then, under Musashi's shocked gaze, Might Guy instantly petrified, then cracked.

Might Guy's disbelief echoed through the scene.

"NA!! NI!!~"

In broad daylight.

Konoha echoed with Might Guy's voice.

"Anbu? Musashi was recruited into the Anbu?"

"Why?"

"Kakashi, answer me!" Might Guy pointed a finger at Musashi, questioning Kakashi in front of him.

"Well..." Kakashi scratched his head, getting a headache. "The Hokage discovered Musashi's outstanding talent, so he recruited him into the Anbu. Presumably, he wants to focus on cultivating him."

"Guy, don't worry, Musashi is an excellent ninja, the Anbu's influence on him won't..." Just as he was explaining, Might Guy waved his hand to interrupt him.

"Of course I know Musashi is an excellent ninja!"

"But, Kakashi, that's not what I want to say!"

"Why? On what grounds? Musashi can enter the Anbu? But I! —Might Guy, who possesses excellent talent just like Musashi, cannot!"

He darted to Musashi's side, rapidly changing poses.

"Kakashi, look! Whether it's the outfit or the Will of Youth, there is absolutely no difference between Musashi and me!"

"Why can Musashi enter the Anbu, but I can't?"

At this moment, he thought back to the past.

To save Kakashi Hatake, who was becoming increasingly gloomy due to Anbu work, he proactively applied to Hiruzen Sarutobi to transfer to the Anbu.

He was determined to use his boundless hot blood to warm Kakashi's heart.

However.

Hiruzen Sarutobi, with a look of pity: Guy, Anbu work doesn't suit you.

Danzo, rejecting him coldly: Root doesn't need someone like you. You don't possess the talent of an excellent ninja. Your darkness is far from sufficient.

His heart broke back then.

But now, Musashi Ryomiya—who was just as youthful, just as hot-blooded, just as much a Taijutsu ninja, and wore the same handsome training spandex—was assigned to the Anbu by old man Hiruzen.

Is there any justice left?

Hokage, you clearly said the Anbu doesn't suit people like me!

Kakashi could only smile wryly.

"Well... Guy, maybe Lord Hokage thinks Musashi is younger and needs more guidance."

Comfort didn't work.

Might Guy stopped his tears, raised his head, and a determined light flashed in his eyes.

"O~K! Since Musashi can do it, then I can too. Kakashi, Musashi, wait here for me. I'm going to find Lord Hokage right now and ask him to allow me to join the Anbu too!"

"When the time comes, the three of us together will build merit for Konoha in the Anbu and play a youthful concerto together!"

"Guy, I think..." Kakashi reached out to say something, but Might Guy had already started running, rushing toward the Hokage Building like the wind.

Leaving Kakashi frozen in place with one hand extended.

"Senior Kakashi, do you think Lord Hokage will agree to Big Brother Guy's request?" Musashi asked.

Kakashi Hatake: "No!"

"...Unless the Hokage has gone mad."
