Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Pride of the Qin Family

Qin Feng remembered it so clearly because it was one of the more famous ruins unearthed at the beginning of the prelude to the Golden Era.

According to the records of Ancient Times, the Spirit Sea Continent had several periods: the Chaos Era, followed by two successive Ancient Eras, then the Middle Ages, and finally the Prehistoric Era at the very end of a distant Ancient Era.

During the Prehistoric Era, a great war broke out. Many ancient beings that had survived from the Ancient Era vanished completely. The world was fractured, leading to many unknown and dangerous changes and leaving behind countless unsolved mysteries and even forbidden lands on the continent.

Even the world itself underwent a terrifying transformation. In later ages, there was a legend that the Spirit Sea Continent was merely a small fragment broken off from a much larger, boundless continent.

After the great cataclysm of the Prehistoric Era came the Golden Era, a time of vibrant Primordial Qi that lasted for one hundred thousand years.

It was the final opportunity!

Following that was the Silver Era, where the tide of Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi gradually receded. Then came the Bronze Era, when the riverbed of this energy was exposed. After that was the Dusk Era, when the riverbed dried up completely. Finally, there was the End of Dharma Era, a time when Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi had nearly vanished and Qi Fortune was broken.

The rise of the Golden Era was shrouded in all sorts of myths in later generations. Of course, the most talked-about aspects were the endless stream of mysterious ruins and the Ancient Treasures passed down from within them.

'This small ruin hasn't appeared yet. Its emergence, along with a few others, was later known as the beginning of the prelude to the Golden Era. From this, I can deduce that the curtain on the Golden Era itself hasn't truly risen. As I recall, the Golden Era only officially began after *that* particular ruin appeared!' Qin Feng surmised.

The reason Qin Feng had such a deep impression of this small ruin was that it and another would appear one after another in a short period. These three or four small ruins were scattered across the Yan Kingdom and its neighbor, the Jin Kingdom. Only after these ruins emerged would the one symbolizing the true opening of the Golden Era appear.

His memory of the other small ruins and their locations was somewhat vague, but he remembered this particular one on the outskirts of the Yan Kingdom's Barbaric Mountain Range with exceptional clarity.

This was because the small ruin concealed an extremely rare and precious elixir: the Mystic Turtle Divine Pill. It was a Divine Pill capable of forging a Flawless Saint Body.

What was a Flawless Saint Body? It was a physical body born with all one hundred meridians open and internally perfect.

Martial Dao Cultivation also depended on talent. The very best was called Top-tier Talent. People with Top-tier Talent were one in ten thousand, and their Cultivation speed was more than three times that of others. One day of their practice was equivalent to three days for someone else; one year was equivalent to three years.

Below that was Middle-tier Talent. People with Middle-tier Talent were one in a thousand; there might not be even one such person among a thousand people. Their Cultivation speed was more than twice that of others.

Low-tier Talent was also known as Ordinary Talent. However, even Ordinary Talent was one in a hundred. But talent was not unchangeable. Many people with a Wasteful Constitution could undergo Washing Marrow and Peeling Fur through certain Cultivation Techniques, thereby changing their constitution. However, even if a constitution could be changed, there were limits. Changing one's constitution to that of an Ordinary Talent already required a certain amount of luck. As for changing it to a Middle-tier Talent, that was not something an ordinary Spirit Pill could achieve.

Even lower was the Wasteful Constitution. Those with a Wasteful Constitution were Innately weak and could not withstand training. In fact, ordinary training had no effect and could even cause them harm. However, the path to Cultivation was not completely cut off. With enough diligence, they might achieve enlightenment or use certain Miraculous Skills and Miracle Elixirs to change their constitution and attain Low-tier Talent.

Finally, there was the Absolute Body. People with this constitution not only had zero talent for Cultivation, but their very lives were also at risk! For example, the Three Yin Extreme Body that Qin Feng had been forced into was a type of Wasteful Constitution, but not an ordinary one. The word "Absolute" in its name meant that the path to Cultivation was completely severed.

As for the Flawless Saint Body, it was a constitution even more terrifying than Top-tier Talent. The body's Innate meridians were open from birth, the bones and flesh were perfect, and it naturally formed a state of Primordial Unity. Such a person was born for Cultivation! They possessed the makings of a Saint! Their Cultivation speed was five times that of others.

The reason Qin Feng remembered this ruin was precisely because of this Divine Pill. The Mystic Turtle Divine Pill was refined from a Black Tortoise Divine Embryo and contained a wisp of the essence of a Black Tortoise Divine Beast, capable of completely changing a person's talent.

The Black Tortoise Divine Embryo. The Black Tortoise is one of the four celestial Divine Beasts, a being of incredibly revered status within the Divine Beast Clan. Every Black Tortoise is nurtured by heaven and earth, far beyond any ordinary mortal body.

This Divine Pill was originally a Treasure Medicine refined by an Ancient Powerhouse for his pregnant dao companion. He hoped his child would be born with a Flawless Saint Body. Unfortunately, some unknown accident occurred, and he disappeared, never to return.

This Mystic Turtle Divine Pill was refined in a Pill Furnace for a thousand years, absorbing the essence of countless other elixirs. Its effects were truly divine, and it possessed all sorts of incredible, mysterious powers.

In a later generation, a disciple from the Qin Family discovered these ruins. However, because the essence of all the other elixirs had been completely absorbed by the Mystic Turtle Divine Pill, turning them to useless fossils, he assumed the ruin was worthless. He reported the matter to a Young Master of the Qin Family in exchange for some benefits. It was a sign of his insufficient fortune that he never discovered the Mystic Turtle Divine Pill being Nurtured in the Alchemy Furnace. In the end, it fell into the hands of the Young Master Qin who later came to inspect the site. This Young Master Qin would go on to build a grand reputation for himself with this Divine Pill, his fame spreading far and wide. He came to be known as the Mystic Black Tortoise Divine Venerable and was even just one step away from becoming a Demon God.

This event was even recorded in ancient texts and became a story told with great relish by powerful figures of later generations. It had a profound influence, affecting generation after generation. Countless people flocked to ancient ruins, one after another. Many lost their lives in the process, but some also reaped great rewards.

'Let's see, what was the name of that Young Master Qin who got the Mystic Turtle Divine Pill? I think it was Qin Fang... no, wait. The Qin Family's Lao Qi is also named Qin Fang!' A thought struck Qin Feng, and his expression froze. A strange smile quickly flashed in his eyes. 'Heh, talk about a small world for enemies…'

'Isn't that right? Out of curiosity, I once looked up the real name of that famous Mystic Black Tortoise Divine Venerable. His real name was none other than Qin Fang!'

Qin Fang. The Legitimate Son of the Qin Family's main branch, of pure bloodline and noble birth. Even at a young age, he carried the air of a great clan's successor. More importantly, his talent was outstanding. He had been tested early on and found to possess Top-tier Talent. He was the Revival Lord everyone in the Qin Family was counting on, the apple of the current Patriarch's eye.

For his sake, they had paved the way for him early on, scheming in a thousand different ways, even sacrificing Qin Feng and his family, all to ensure Qin Fang's rise.

And this Qin Fang was the same "seventh young master" who had stolen his fiancée!
