A summoned Divine Dragon requires a vast amount of Magic Power to manifest and sustain its physical form. The Dragon Pearl provides most of this power, but the Summoner's own qualities are also very important.
Evelyn's own aptitude was merely average. To conserve Magic Power and conceal its form, Gorgon spent most of its time as an ethereal being, staying by the wandering mage's side.
"Mm, thank you." Evelyn nodded slightly at the Giant Demon's suggestion and adjusted her glasses.
After summoning Gorgon, she had initially considered handing the Dragon Pearl over to the Empire. After all, who didn't know how perilous the Dragon Pearl War was? An Apprentice Mage like herself, with skills below the average level, would probably die on the spot from a single glance from another Divine Dragon.
But it was precisely because she was ordinary that she found it so hard to let go of this heaven-sent opportunity.
