Finn Hawthorne nodded, his tone casual. "The fruit was sprinkled with what's commonly called itching powder, especially on the orange peels."
Faye Vaughn asked in confusion, "Why don't you seem angry at all?"
Finn Hawthorne shrugged. "The doctor said it'll clear up in three days. As long as I don't scratch, I'll be fine."
Faye Vaughn couldn't hold back. "Is that really the point?"
'Shouldn't the point be that Serena Beckett tried to harm her?'
But Finn Hawthorne said, "Serena Beckett just misunderstood. She thought you were some kind of floozy. Once I explain things to her, she'll stop targeting you."
Faye Vaughn pressed her lips together and fell silent.
'The truth was staring them in the face, yet he was still defending Serena Beckett.'
'Whatever his reasons were, she couldn't accept it.'
"Are you angry?" Finn Hawthorne leaned in. Seeing her lovely face tense up, he poked her with his bandaged hand, trying to cheer her up. "That scowl isn't pretty. Give me a smile."
