Faye Vaughn spent a few days recuperating in the hospital, and her recovery was swift.
The System asked her, 'Host, why not stay sick? Wyatt Hawthorne has been staying with you every night.'
Faye Vaughn replied lazily, "Well, have you checked if his affection level has gone up?"
The System checked Wyatt Hawthorne's affection level. It was still stuck at 33%, not having budged an inch.
The System was puzzled. 'He's been so gentle and caring toward you these past few days, sleeping in your hospital room every night to look after you. Why haven't his feelings fluctuated at all?'
Faye Vaughn knew her System was both useless and naive. She explained listlessly, "A man's gentleness is the cheapest thing there is. He can be good to you when the mood strikes, and he can be just as good to other women."
The System was confused. 'Being good to you... isn't that a sign of true feelings?'
