Naturally, the police had to interrogate both parties.
Before that, they had to be separated to prevent them from colluding on their stories.
Evan Keller left two officers behind to watch the men in black suits, while the rest followed Wren Rowan inside.
As soon as they entered the living room, Wren Rowan paid no mind to anything else. She quickly opened a nearby bedroom door, her voice tinged with anxiety. "Robert! How are you?"
Zoe Sawyer and Heath Hale exchanged a look and followed her.
Evan Keller, however, held out a hand to stop the anxious Mrs. Rowan and opened his notebook. "Mrs. Rowan, I need you to tell us everything from the beginning, please. It will help our investigation."
Mrs. Rowan glanced nervously toward her son's room, then back at the two officers in front of her. Finally, she nodded. "I understand. We only suddenly received the notice two days ago."
In her younger years, Mrs. Rowan had always scraped by on odd jobs, so she had no pension to speak of.
