"It's too deserted here." Qin Ziwen looked around. The town was eerily quiet.
"That's normal. This is a restaurant, after all. Ordinary people don't come to a place like this, and even if they do, they leave right after their meal. Besides, people like you probably get restless if you're away from your own Home for too long, right?"
"'Us?'" Qin Ziwen picked up on the implication.
"Haha, I forgot to mention. I'm not a Lord of the Homeland. You could call me a… hmm, a tick living here?" The bushy-bearded man grinned, showing his teeth. "My parents were probably Lords of the Homeland. They had me here and then just left."
"Are there many people like you?"
"Not too many, but not too few either. My name is Ti Hu," the bushy-bearded man said. "The owner of the restaurant took us in. I usually work as a broker here to pass the time."
Ti Hu suddenly froze, straightened his back, and tilted his head. A moment later, he gave Qin Ziwen a strange look.
