Yu Zhenyang cried out a warning. He had seen a bloody dog head suddenly emerge from the mist behind Cao Mingjie.

The earthen-yellow ring of light instantly let out a crisp crack before shattering completely.
But thankfully, it bought them a moment. Coupled with Yu Zhenyang's warning, Cao Mingjie managed to raise his Spirit Shield in front of him just in time.
"THUD!"
The dog's head slammed into the Shield, knocking both Cao Mingjie and his Shield back three staggering steps.
The beast wasn't unscathed, though; it froze in place for a second, stunned.
