Concealing their auras, Shengshou Scholar and Jin Wujiu tailed the Fire God Gu from afar. They watched it devour an entire flock of strange birds before it leisurely flew toward a snow-capped mountain.
When the golden flame reached the summit, it instantly melted the snow that had covered the peak for untold years. White steam surged skyward, sizzling loudly.
"Could that person be on this mountain?"
Shengshou Scholar's expression flickered. This place wasn't far from the True Flame Sect. 'Perhaps Fang Cheng just brought his Fire Gu out for a feeding,' he thought.
He steered his moth to a stop at the edge of the scorching, boiling steam and called out, "Are you there, Fellow Daoist Fang?"
An utter silence answered, broken only by the howling of the cold wind and the swirling snow.
The Fire Gu on the summit took flight again, heading into the distant sky.
Shengshou Scholar let out a light chuckle and said, "Please wait, Fellow Daoist!"
