"S-Sabin, you..." Renee Jennings held her breath, her heart pounding wildly. Her legs, feeling as if an electric current had shot through them, trembled nervously.
"Sabin, I warned you not to bully Renee!" Rory roared in anger.
Niner quickly closed in as well, his eyes full of wariness. "She's here to help you! You can't eat her!"
Sabin didn't bite Renee Jennings with his sharp fangs. He just struggled to open his mouth wide.
Renee Jennings froze for a second before a flash of understanding lit up her pretty eyes.
'What a smart tiger.'
Renee Jennings covered her mouth and nose with one hand and slowly reached out with the other to touch Sabin's tooth. "Sabin, does it hurt right here?"
Sabin gave a small nod, then shook his head.
Renee Jennings blinked, confused. She asked hesitantly, "So your tooth hurts, but it's not this one, right?"
Sabin nodded again.
Now that she understood the source of his pain, Renee Jennings let out a sigh of relief.
