The uncle got more and more worked up as he spoke, squeezing next to Mr. Bell. "Brother, I'm serious. I'm not suggesting this so you'll help raise Harvey. I'm genuinely concerned for you and Sister-in-law."
"Don't talk nonsense!" Mr. Bell snapped.
Mrs. Bell also said, "Brother-in-law, you can't joke about something like this."
"Brother, I'm truly worried for you and Sister-in-law." The uncle put on a pained expression. "Susan is a credit to you, getting into a good university. But she's a girl, after all. Eventually, she's just going to get married and leave, isn't she?"
"A married daughter is like spilled water. Now, look at Ben." The uncle's face grew smug. "His grades weren't as good as Susan's, but he can give me a grandson! And the boy is already this big, and so adorable."
Mrs. Bell retorted, "What's the use of having a grandson? You had him, but you won't even raise him."
