Ethan's Dad stopped dead in his tracks. Rage instantly surged from his chest to the top of his head, his temples throbbing violently.
He whipped his head around angrily. Just as he was about to speak, his heart felt as if it were being squeezed by a giant hand. A sharp, piercing pain shot through him, making it hard to even breathe.

The hammer in Ethan's Dad's hand suddenly fell to the floor. His body went limp and he collapsed, his vision blurring.
Lucky paced anxiously beside him, whimpering, "WOOF WOOF WOOF! Dad, what's wrong? Dad, get up..."
