As the carriage passed through town, Ji Huan went to a fabric shop to buy some cloth and cotton.
Guan Shan casually asked who the new clothes were for, since it didn't seem like any of the three of them at home needed a new winter coat.
Ji Huan pointed at Jifeng. "For him."
Guan Shan was taken aback.
Jifeng's large eyes even seemed to widen.
"Why are you looking at me like that? On a cold day like this, we're all bundled up nice and tight, but Jifeng has nothing. I'm worried he'll get cold."
Guan Shan seemed at a loss for words. After a long moment, he managed to squeeze out three words: "He has fur."
Jifeng even tossed his head right on cue.
His mane was dark and glossy, long and flowing, like something out of a shampoo commercial. 'Too bad it only grows in that one strip,' Ji Huan thought. 'What good is that?'
"People have hair on their heads, and they still have to wear clothes."
