Cheris's residence was on the 13th floor of the skyscraper and occupied the entire level.
She personally led Murphy down the hallway and pushed open a door whose style was completely different from her office.
"Here, your room."
Murphy stood at the doorway, his gaze sweeping across the room.
The room was spacious and exquisitely furnished.
A soft, handmade rug lay on the dark hardwood floor. A large bed was set against the window, dressed in deep gray silk bedding.
Near the window was a desk, and next to it, a small bookshelf, currently empty with no books on it.
The most eye-catching feature was a painting on the wall.
It was a simple landscape painting depicting a serene forest. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground.
Murphy's gaze lingered on the painting for a moment.
