Flustered, Xin Huohuo squeezed through the crowd, only to realize she had gone the wrong way.
The main entrance was to the south, the private rooms were to the north, and the bar was slightly east of center. Yet she had somehow circled halfway around the venue, inexplicably ending up on the west side, looking across the dance floor toward where Bei Mingyuan was.
Just then, the DJ did something that made the whole club erupt. Amid blinding, spinning lights and a heart-pounding beat, the crowd threw their arms in the air, whistling and clapping. The energy was insane.
Xin Huohuo looked back but couldn't find any sign of Xiang Xiaoxue. She felt like she'd been dropped into a raging ocean, surrounded on all sides by waves. In the end, she was helplessly swept along by the current of people and shoved toward a corridor.
A neon sign indicated the way to the restrooms.
