Xiang Xiaoxue's mouth hung open. After a long moment, she said in astonishment, "You're just admitting it like that? You're not even going to try and tell a little lie or something? Isn't that how it's supposed to work for humans?"
"You're my best friend. What's there to hide?" Xin Huohuo said, her tone perfectly natural.
This left Xiang Xiaoxue feeling rather conflicted.
After a good while, she leaned close to Xin Huohuo and said conspiratorially, "Actually, Master Eight sent me to find you because he thinks you like Bei Mingyuan. He wanted me to subtly tell you that you'll get hurt if you get together with that demon lord. He also specifically told me not to hurt your pride."
Xin Huohuo was dumbfounded.
'I can't believe Little Eight is such a gossip,' she thought. 'And I really can't believe he noticed the feelings I've been trying so hard to hide. Was it that obvious? I only just figured out my own feelings for Bei Mingyuan myself.'
