"Mm-hmm, I'll try my best too! When Grandpa and Mommy get better, I'll be sure to take good care of them!"
"Mm, you're such a good boy, Fanfan!"
Shen Nian gently stroked Gu Zifan's head and pulled him into a pained embrace. Little Gu Zifan was just so mature for his age, so mature it was heartbreaking.
After setting a time with Gu Hengzhi, they dropped the subject of the treatment. Since it was a rare chance to see Gu Zifan and she had no classes that afternoon, Shen Nian decided to take him out to play nearby.
Shen Nian wasn't satisfied until she saw Gu Zifan break into the innocent smile a boy his age ought to have.
After seeing Gu Hengzhi and Gu Zifan off, Shen Nian returned to her dorm. Her three roommates had been waiting for her, and they all crowded around the moment she walked in.
Chu Lingxiu was a bit calmer, since she knew more of the story. Wang Chunhua was naturally timid, so of course, it was Qi Yunzhi who was the most excited.
