Sitting in a roadside tea stall, Gu Wenheng took small sips from his cup, giving Lu Ping the illusion that he was drinking fine nectar.
Lu Ping thought the tea was somewhat unique. He was thirsty from the journey anyway, so he picked up his cup and took a huge gulp, only to nearly spew it out.
Forcing down the bitter liquid, Lu Ping finally asked, "Don't you find it bitter?"
"It's fine. Quite thirst-quenching," Gu Wenheng said. At least it quenched his thirst better than plain boiled water.
"..." Lu Ping paused. "You've been walking for half the day, looking around everywhere. Are you looking for something?"
Gu Wenheng shook his head. "I came out to relax. Of course I'd observe the local sights. That's not called 'looking around everywhere'."
"Same thing." Lu Ping looked at the rather desolate scenery around them. "Do you want me to have someone bring the carriage over? It's going to take a long time to walk back."
