Yang Wenlan leaned in close to her ear and lowered her voice. "Madam Ning and her mother-in-law have arrived. Don't be too surprised when you see her later."
Jin Qianqian knew she was kindly giving her a heads-up. She blinked. "Is there something wrong?"
Yang Wenlan pointed at her own eyes. "There's an issue with her eyes; it seems her vision isn't very clear. I haven't seen her at the previous banquets. I wonder why she tagged along this time."
"Shouldn't the real question be why she was *brought* along this time?" Jin Qianqian asked.
"It means the same thing. Besides, looking at Madam Ning's demeanor, she seems somewhat disdainful of her mother-in-law."
Jin Qianqian could already picture several versions of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law drama playing out in her head, but she kept her mouth shut and walked on quietly.
