Gu Wenheng felt a sharp pain in his waist and quickly reached out to hold her hand in place. Fortunately, he had dismissed the maids earlier, or else he would have lost his authority in the house.
Jin Qianqian snorted, "She isn't much to look at, but she sure dreams big. If she tries to steal what's mine, I'll make sure she loses everything."
Gu Wenheng pulled her into his arms. "She's just an irrelevant person. Let's not lower ourselves to her level.
"Besides, she hasn't said anything yet. If we sit here letting our imaginations run wild, aren't we giving her too much credit?"
Jin Qianqian was merely complaining. "You make a fair point. Whatever she's plotting, she had better not provoke us."
"Aren't you afraid the Chief of Staff from the Huang Mansion will step in?" Gu Wenheng teased her intentionally.
Jin Qianqian fell silent for a moment. "If it really comes to that, the choice won't be mine to make. It will be yours."
