The bandits who had originally been standing next to Tian Er now took a half-step away in disgust, leaving an empty space for him to roll around on the ground.
"Don't test our patience. Go back to work immediately. Right now."
With Tian Er as a cautionary tale, the rest didn't dare to remain locked in a stalemate. They returned to the wasteland in twos and threes, though everyone was now on guard against each other. They carefully observed those around them. Did anyone have symptoms? Would they drag them down with them?
Mountain Leader's eyes darted around; he knew this rare opportunity had arrived.
He stealthily sidled up to Mr. Lang. Seeing him approach, Mr. Lang hastily shuffled a few steps sideways. "Don't come so close."
"I have something to say to you," Mountain Leader muttered.
