Her body suddenly felt light, and the last bit of strength she had been holding onto vanished. She vaguely felt a great gush of warmth from her lower body. She only had enough time to tell Marcus Monroe to clear the filth from the baby's mouth. Hearing his first, faint cry, she passed out before she could even worry if she was hemorrhaging.
When she next awoke, it was only her consciousness. Her body had not a shred of strength. She didn't even have the energy to open her eyes, let alone think about anything.
