He casually ran a hand through his hair as he stepped out of the elevator, unable to suppress the smile playing on his lips. "Didn't I say I'd be back?"
He wasn't wearing a jacket, just a black shirt that was soaked through with rain, clinging tightly to his waist on one side.
Erin Lowell flinched back. "Why didn't you use an umbrella?"
Zane Jennings paused his primping. Seeing her retreat a couple of steps, he tilted his head and smiled. "What are you dodging for?" He reached out, pulling her to his side. "Disgusted with me?"
She shook her head in denial, her eyes crinkling. "No."
"Heartless," Zane Jennings said, still holding her with his right hand. He held out the bag in his left. "For you."
The hand on her arm wasn't squeezing hard, but the pressure was just enough that Erin Lowell couldn't break free after trying twice. She looked up at him. "What is this?"
"Stop asking so many questions. It's for you, just take it."
Erin Lowell stood her ground, refusing to take it.
