Realizing she couldn't accomplish anything by staying, Yuan Si went straight to the train station. She decided to stop delaying and head directly for her destination.
Inside the train station, she followed the signs straight to the ticket counter.
"Excuse me, is there a train to City A today?" Yuan Si was a bit short and couldn't see into the ticket booth at all. The person inside probably couldn't see her either, so she had to tilt her head back and shout.
She startled the female ticket agent inside—it's rather unnerving to hear a voice without seeing a person. The agent had to lean out of the window to finally spot the short Yuan Si.
"Kiddo, why did your parents let a little girl like you come here to buy tickets? Go on, get them to come over."
"Ma'am, I'm not buying a ticket. I'm just asking for my dad about the train schedule." Yuan Si patiently engaged with the agent. 'Her age was such a handicap. No one took her seriously, and getting anything done was a huge pain.'
