But The Military wasn't actually that opposed to the idea.
Now that even Omegas had joined battlefield rescue missions, allowing Betas shouldn't be an issue.
It was Quentin Ford's organization, however, that complicated matters.
They didn't know what his and his organization's bottom line was.
And as for Quentin Ford's current demands, some were easy to satisfy, while others were truly difficult.
Unless they were willing to reveal themselves, development on Beta-specific Mecha or special weaponry would not progress quickly.
All research requires the accumulation of practical experiments; it can't be built on thin air.
This was also part of what they wanted to pry out of Quentin Ford.
