Before leaving, she wrote a sticky note and placed it by the door to let the others know.
Drew Thorne was waiting for her in the outdoor parking lot of Aethelgard University. When Jane Sterling arrived, she saw the familiar license plate.
Jane didn't need Drew to get out; she got right into the passenger seat and put her things in the back.
"Did you tell Grandpa Thorne you were going out? Don't make him worry."
The corners of Drew Thorne's lips curled up.
"Don't worry, Grandpa knows. Hold on tight."
With that, Drew Thorne started the car. You could tell he was in a good mood today.
It was early in the morning, with a clear, boundless sky filled with the morning glow. The weather was perfect.
'With weather like this, the beach should be very pleasant. We probably won't run into any rain.'
The drive was pleasant. Drew and Jane were in high spirits, playing music and chatting along the way.
When they arrived at the coast, Jane looked out ahead and spread her arms wide.
