"The old woman's reaction just now... she looked terrified. But why would she be scared of a longevity lock?"
Jane Sterling looked extremely curious, and Drew Thorne remained silent for a long moment.
"Longevity locks are usually something adults give to children to wish them a long and healthy life. Adults don't normally wear them, do they?"
Jane Sterling nodded.
"So, are you saying it belongs to a child? Do they have any children?"
Old Man Warren's house wasn't very big at all. With the whole family back from the city and staying in the small home, there didn't seem to be any children's supplies around.
"This afternoon, my cousin was telling me about Old Man Warren's family. I haven't heard anything about them having a new baby in the past couple of years."
Jane Sterling raised an eyebrow. She didn't know much about Old Man Warren's family and hadn't initially thought there was anything suspicious going on.
Drew Thorne's expression was grim as they walked.
