Wen Ying looked at Li Min's father, her expression serious and sincere. Her words made the corner of his mouth twitch. 'Is she messing with me?'
'I was asking which master she studied under, not for her academic qualifications!'
'Oh, well. I suppose people with real skills don't like being asked questions.'
"Doctor Wen, I believe you. Would it be possible to get your contact information?" Li Min's father had spent his whole life walking a fine line. He couldn't claim to have any real abilities—it was just a way to make ends meet. But he held a deep, genuine reverence for this line of work, frustrated only by the fact he'd never met a true master, or perhaps had never been worthy of a master's notice.
But now, after meeting Wen Ying, that long-dormant part of his heart began to stir restlessly.
