Lu Xize ignored him, staring quietly out the window.
He wasn't sure if it was his unfounded anxiety from the night before, or something else entirely. But when he had returned to the villa just now, the empty house simply felt... hollow.
In truth, Lu Xize was someone who greatly preferred solitude. He'd been at the top his whole life, which had given him a cold disposition. Outside of get-togethers with his closest friends, he generally disliked crowds and commotion.
So, Lu Xize was more than comfortable with being home alone.
But just now, seeing that the person who should have been curled up on the sofa was gone, Lu Xize felt like a part of him was missing.
'The only thought in my mind is that I want to hold Chu Yao in my arms. And then... there is no 'and then.' I just want to hold her.'
And once he had the thought, he had to act on it. Lu Xize never denied himself anything—unless Chu Yao was the one asking him to.
