Laito admired his newest Echo's runes.
Especially the familiar [Child of Shadows] looked extremely promising. [Mark of Unholiness] could potentially be awesome as well.
The reincarnator addressed these in order:
[Profane Body] Attribute Description: [The body of Apollyon has inexhaustible vigor, great strength, agility and Undead Soul, which grants it immunity to Mind attacks, while being more vulnerable to Spirit attacks. It's capable of regenerating back even from total annihilation, but is severely weakened when exposed to sunlight, having its recovery nullified].
[Child of Shadows] Attribute Description: [Shadows recognize Apollyon as one of their own].
[Blood-drinker] Attribute Description: [Wolf-bat Shades are capable of siphoning the blood of others, simultaneously strengthening themselves].
[Mark of Unholiness] Attribute Description: [Apollyon inherited a faint scent of Void from its bloodline, its connection to unholiness stronger than the norm].

'C'mon it's basically a vampire. Just call it a vampire ok? There's no point in walking around it. But damn…- I am now surprised that I managed to kill it with this [Profane Body]... Maybe the light I'm giving off counts as sunlight?' Laito mused to himself.
'That would suck, because I wanted to use Apollyon as a mount. How could I do it if I would weaken it just by being around? Regardless of that, it's ridiculously strong. A Fallen Demon with buffs to its physical stats, which can be strengthened further by drinking blood…'
'Though having a pet with an appearance like that doesn't exactly scream "Hero" does it?' He glanced at Apollyon with scepticism.
'You ugly, but stronk. Using you will require… cunning, unless I want to tarnish my reputation… although I still haven't decided yet whether I even care much about reputation per se… at least as long as I won't be branded as villain.' Laito wondered and decided to leave that problem for future Laito to worry about.
He continued searching for changes in his character sheet.

The mysterious question marks that appeared at the top of Nightmare Spell display were now fully comprehensible:

Laito squinted his eyes trying to understand what he read.
'Affinities?...- Like source elements? Order I do get, but what does "Astral" mean? Like cosmos? Or maybe something related to the Storm Goddess? She had stars in her divine portfolio after all.'
Instead of just guessing he decided to figure out if Spell could explain more.
Apparently, it could, but not exactly what Laito wanted to.
When he tried to focus on "What does these Affinities mean?" he failed to get an answer. So instead, he focused on particular Tomes. He started with the one he already was well acquainted with. The familiar image of Tome of Warding surfaced in his thoughts.
Tome of Warding Description: [Tier I Astral Tome. Those who master the arcane are as a soothing breeze upon their allies, cushioning them in a protective blanket of air, buffeting away blows, and harnessing the lightning to smite those who dare to come too close! A master of warding will find a myriad of ways to keep their subjects safe.]
Tome of Warding Spells(In research):
Level I Spells: [Summon Phantasm Warriors], [???].
Level II Spell: [Mark of Invulnerability].
Level III Spells: [Static Shield], [???].
Laito realized that the Nightmare Spell provided a neat summary of all Spells that he already knew, alongside with the information of the number of Spells he still had to decipher.
'I cannot stop marveling at how convenient the Nightmare Spell is. With its perks a person would have been incredibly stupid to get rid of it… at least after already paying the price for getting it in the first place.'
Laito already used all the known Spells within this Tome except for his latest addition and he was quite giddy to test it. For now he had one last thing to examine.
The reincarnatior focused on his second Tome. In his mind manifested a leather book that had a glowing symbol of sun that was pierced vertically by a spear of light.
Tome of Radiance Description: [Tier I Order Tome. Our inner light shall become a holy flame, to burn away all that is false and impure in this forsaken world. Those who embrace the fires shall be cleansed from the taint of this lesser creation and be remade into their better selves, while others impure and corrupt will flee from our grace, seeking shelter in the shadows and only finding their own despair. Before our radiance they are but shadows; all will weep in the ashes of our perfection.]

Level II Spells: [Sacred Oil], [Ashen Pilgrim], [Blazing Ordination].
'How… Do I know them? Nevermind. I don't want to know. I am just happy that I have new tools in ma arsenal… but doesn't this Tome look a bit like a Nephis cosplayer? I hope that I won't change into an autistic blowtorch myself… although on the other hand it could be fun. As long as I won't burn myself.'
'And speaking of autistic blowtorches…'
'He he. Todoroki, Bakugo… with my new powers I am definitely trashing absolutely everyone at the festival.'

'No. Focus.' Laito shook his head rapidly to bring himself back from his daydreams about the future.
He quickly glanced for the moment at staring eyes below the floor, before looking up towards The Gate.
'More Spells are always amazing, but now, without the Mana to power them, their efficiency is dependent on my Rank again…
Laito turned his head to stare at the Darkness that crept beyond the reach of his light.
'Knowing my luck, something unreasonably powerful is going to try and eat me while The Gate is opening.
'I need to keep watch and be prepared for everything.'

It's quite a big deal.
And also the very concept of them, together with the Tomes, Spells and their descriptions are not mine.
All rights to those belong to Triumph Studios &Paradox Entertainment. I'm just borrowing these, as they perfectly fit into what I want to write.
I also think they cool.
