Chapter 40 - 47

Chapter 46: Perfect Person

Roland held [angelica] in the massage tub for a few hours to "refresh his fatigue level," and after recovering from the mental exhaustion brought by consecutive fierce battles, he prepared to set off to continue the "speedrun" progress.

According to the livestream plan previously designated with the officials, after the second world ended, there would be segments for virtual idol song performances and Q&A sessions with prizes until the third world's progress began.

Roland planned to use this time to thoroughly digest the gains from the two worlds' progress, while also fighting in the Arena to climb the rankings. Additionally, he needed to research the plot of "Dragon Raja" to prepare an action plan for the next world in advance.

There were significantly more things to do than when he came out of the "sekiro" world. Twelve days might not be enough; if he didn't hurry, it might disrupt the entire challenge process, and the livestream's viewing experience would be much worse.

To save time, before leaving, Roland sorted out the blue, green, and white treasure chests from his [storage space] and handed them to Orlando, who stayed at home, to open, while keeping only a few purple treasure chests on himself.

After leaving his [Exclusive Room], Roland's first stop was the [Attribute Strengthening Hall].

[Welcome to the Attribute Strengthening Pod. Please pay the activation fee. The activation fee is 50 paradise coins.]

After paying the paradise coins, Roland's attributes appeared before his eyes.

Strength: 27

Agility: 27

Vitality: 27

Intelligence: 10

Charisma: 10

[The Hunter may distribute attribute points freely. Current attribute points: 20]

[Beep. It has been verified that the Hunter's affinity attributes are Strength, Agility, Vitality, Intelligence, and Charisma. Please prioritize increasing these five attributes.]

Just as he had planned before, Roland distributed the 20 attribute points equally between Intelligence and Charisma to make up for his shortcomings.

[Intelligence is a Hunter affinity attribute. Naked Intelligence has reached 20 points. The Hunter may choose one of the following rewards.]

[Special authority enabled. The Hunter can consume 500 paradise coins to refresh a single reward. Each subsequent refresh will cost an additional 100% of the paradise coins.]

1. Heart Realm: Intelligence +3.

2. Mana Amplification: Increases Mana by 50 points.

3. Iron Will: Increases resistance to abnormal states like charm, hypnosis, and mental confusion by 25%... None of the three attribute rewards were what he wanted. He directly consumed 500 paradise coins to refresh the second option. A white light flashed, and the second option changed to [Thinker (Rare Reward): Recovers an additional 10 points of Mana per hour.]

"Again!"

He consumed 1000 more paradise coins to refresh again. A haloed white light flashed, and the attribute reward entry Roland needed finally appeared.

[Efficient Thinking (Rare Reward · 'Perfect Person' 4/3): Gain 1 additional point of Mana for every point of Intelligence.]

Roland's heart stirred, and his eyes grew fervent at the appearance of this attribute reward.

"Continue! Keep it up. Next is the Charisma attribute!"

[Charisma is a Hunter affinity attribute. Naked Charisma has reached 20 points. The Hunter may choose one of the following rewards.]

1. Handsome: Charisma +3.

2. Boost Morale (Rare Reward): Increases the morale of all summoned units by 20 points (equal to the Charisma attribute) every ten minutes.

3. Hormones: After the first verbal negotiation, the favorability of units of the opposite sex increases by an additional 30 points.

4. Social Etiquette: In derivative worlds, the speed of favorability increase with plot characters is increased by 25%.

Roland completely ignored the four attribute rewards and consumed another 3500 paradise coins for three refreshes, successfully obtaining his target attribute reward.

[Exquisite Face (Rare Reward · 'Perfect Person' 5/5): Gain 1 additional point of Affinity for every point of Charisma.]

[The Hunter has collected five 'Perfect Person' attribute rewards. All attribute reward effects receive additional enhancement and bonus effects.]

...When these five attributes—Strength, Agility, Vitality, Intelligence, and Charisma—broke through 20 points, the attribute rewards Roland chose seemed, at first glance, like a joke.

The Strength attribute's [Strong Muscles]: Gain 1 additional point of muscle power for every point of Strength.

The Agility attribute's [Sprinter]: Gain 1 additional point of movement speed for every point of Agility.

The Vitality attribute's [Robust Physique]: Gain 1 additional point of Health for every point of Vitality.

The bonuses from these five attribute rewards were extremely minimal, almost non-existent. Even if the attributes stacked up later, they would still be negligible.

Logically, since Roland was doing a "classless speedrun" challenge, shouldn't he choose some powerful attribute rewards to boost his strength? Why choose these trash entries that seemed like mere filler?

The reason was simple!

Individually, the five attribute reward bonuses were indeed weak and useless, but they could be combined like an equipment set to produce a much more powerful effect.

[Strong Muscles], [Sprinter], [Robust Physique], [Efficient Thinking], [Exquisite Face], and the [Lucky Star] which Roland had not yet obtained.

These six attribute reward entries only have a small probability of appearing when a Tier 1 "Player" breaks through their attributes. Once all six are gathered and combined, they transform into a passive ability called "Perfect Person."

Once these six special attribute reward entries are missed, after breaking through Tier 1, no matter what method is used, there is no longer any chance to obtain "Perfect Person."

This ability can be simply understood as deeply optimizing human genes on the basis of attribute strengthening, achieving a kind of post-natal evolutionary effect, which in turn allows the human body to exert the core effects of various attributes to a greater extent.

When "Perfect Person" gathers three attribute reward entries, it can begin to take effect. For every point of Roland's Strength/Agility/Vitality, he gains an additional 3 points of muscle power/movement speed/Health.

After collecting five attribute reward entries, the bonus effects of "Perfect Person" are strengthened once again.

Not only does every point of Strength/Agility/Vitality/Intelligence/Charisma gain an additional 5 points of muscle power/movement speed/Health/Mana/Affinity, but he also gains additional Health and Mana regeneration rates.

If there is an opportunity later to complete the most important link, the Luck attribute's [Lucky Star], these bonuses will receive a further leap-like enhancement.

"There are only a handful of ways to steadily increase the Luck attribute in the early stages, and the conditions are harsh. I need to plan carefully; I can't rush this for now!

Next, I'll take a detour to the Trading Plaza to purchase some equipment and items for the next world, and then go upgrade my skills!"

Thinking this, Roland left the strengthening pod. While polishing his plan to improve his strength, he walked toward the section of the Trading Plaza with more armor-type equipment.

Focused solely on improving his strength and the "speedrun challenge," he didn't know that after just two worlds' progress, he had been targeted by some dangerous entities within Reincarnation Paradise.

[Bronze Tree] Adventure Group Headquarters.

The female Contractor, Fallen Leaf, who had taken over as the leader of the adventure group, knelt on the ground. She carefully reported the information sent by the former leader, Deadwood, from "tokyo ghoul" to the white-robed young man sitting at the head.

"In other words, that trash Deadwood not only failed to bring out the complete experimental data but also lost all our manpower in that world!?"

The white-robed young man fiddled with the badge engraved with the [Bronze Tree] Adventure Group's insignia, speaking with a gloomy face:

"I'm truly laughed to the point of anger by your stupidity and incompetence! With so much resource support, you were nearly wiped out by a single person from the opposing camp, single-handedly. Tell me yourself, what is the use of keeping you!?"

Fallen Leaf, who also had an aged face, heard the unconcealed anger and dissatisfaction in his voice, and her face instantly turned pale.

Steadying her body which had almost collapsed, the woman hurriedly slammed her forehead onto the ground repeatedly. Even as blood flowed and stained her entire face, she didn't dare stop.

"I beg you! Please be merciful!!"

"I won't give you any more chances! Having ruined the 'Fungal Lord's' grand plan, you are no longer qualified to live as humans!"

The white-robed young man crushed the badge in his hand and, without even glancing at the woman kneeling on the ground begging for mercy, stepped outside.

"From now on, [Bronze Tree] will be merged into the [Living Dead Squadron]! It just so happens that their adventure group's low-level members have suffered heavy losses recently!"

As he finished speaking, the new leader of the [Bronze Tree] Adventure Group, Fallen Leaf, rolled her eyes and actually fainted from sheer terror.

"Useless thing!"
