Chapter 73 - Chapter 73 - Forged in shadows

The first light of dawn broke over the Red Moon Pack mansion, reflecting off the sleek windows and modern buildings surrounding the training grounds.

Hazel stood in the center of the open courtyard, her hands still trembling slightly from the night before. The Devourer energy pulsed through her, coiling like a living shadow beneath her skin, while her Luna spirit shimmered faintly around her form.

Ryan's eyes were on her, dark and commanding, every movement precise, every expression lethal and protective.

"Good morning, mate," he said, voice low, almost teasing, but carrying the weight of command. "Today, we train your offensive abilities."

Hazel swallowed nervously. "Offensive?"

"Yes," Ryan replied, stepping closer. "You can protect, you can shield, but you must also strike when necessary. You cannot hide behind your Luna powers forever."

The pack warriors were assembled around them: Liam and Klara, Nick and Bella, Sera, and several elite fighters Ryan had trained personally.

"You'll spar with your subordinates," Ryan continued, his gaze cutting through Hazel like a blade. "But I will oversee everything. One wrong move, and I intervene."

Hazel nodded, steeling herself. She had faced rogues before, but training with the pack was different. Every member was powerful, synchronized, and dangerous.

Ryan handed her a pair of training daggers—blades shimmering faintly with shadow energy. "Use these. Focus your Devourer power through them. Feel the strike. Become the weapon."

The first sparring match began with Liam and Klara. Hazel's attacks were clumsy at first—hesitant, unsure—but her Devourer energy responded instinctively. Shadows bent with her will, striking Liam's barrier and testing the limits of her control.

Nick and Bella took the next turn, their attacks lightning fast. Hazel dodged, parried, and countered, each movement sharper than the last. Her confidence grew as she realized her Devourer could anticipate and amplify her strikes, while her Luna spirit guided her intuition.

Ryan watched silently, letting her discover her limits while subtly correcting her stance or technique when needed.

In the corner, Mila's eyes narrowed. She had always wanted Ryan's attention, his devotion, yet Hazel's progress—her strength, her control, her ability to draw Ryan closer—left Mila seething. She stayed in the shadows, unwilling to act yet, but every motion of Hazel seemed to tighten the bond between Ryan and his mate.

Hazel, despite Mila's silent presence, focused entirely on the training. With each successful strike, each controlled burst of shadow energy, she felt more aligned with Ryan—not just physically, but spiritually, emotionally.

Gloria watched nearby, her hands folded gently, smiling softly. "See what you can achieve, Hazel? Strength isn't just power—it's mastery."

By midday, Hazel's training had progressed remarkably. Her movements were fluid, precise, and deadly. She could strike, defend, and manipulate her Devourer and Luna powers simultaneously.

Ryan finally stepped forward, closing the distance between them. His hand brushed against hers as he whispered, "You're mine, Hazel. Every strike, every breath… it's ours."

Hazel's pulse raced. She realized it wasn't just the physical training that drew her closer to him—it was the trust, the intensity, the dominance and protection he offered, all intertwined.

Mila's glare hardened. Even in silence, she knew her influence over Ryan was slipping.

Hazel looked up at Ryan, determination blazing in her eyes. "I'll protect everyone. And I'll do it… with you."

Ryan's lips curved slightly. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

The Red Moon Pack watched silently, witnessing the transformation. Hazel was no longer just a girl discovering her powers—she was becoming a force to be reckoned with, guided by the most dangerous Alpha in the world.

And from the shadows, Mila plotted quietly, her envy growing with every strike, every controlled burst of energy, every connection Hazel shared with Ryan.
