About the power system (spoiler)

Note: The information below will be explained again in future chapters of the story. If you don't want to be spoiled, you may skip this section.

Also, please keep in mind that this is a fictional world, so certain elements may not strictly follow real-world physics. I hope you can overlook that.

If you have read the synopsis, then you should know this already, but let me reiterate. This work revolves around the Quadrant Realm, a world where motorcycle racing is the most dominant field. Racers compete while partnering with Mecha humans, fantastical beings capable of transforming into motorcycles. The power system of this world is centered around these Mecha humans.

The world of the story is called the Quadrant Realm because it is divided into four regions: Sanctuary of Genesis, Sanctuary of Radiance, Sanctuary of Primordia, and the Sanctuary of Chaos. Correspondingly, there are four types of Mecha humans: Genesis-type, Radiance-type, Primordia-type, and Chaos-type.

The strength of a Mecha human is determined by three factors: stats, enchantments (special skills), and level.

Stats: Stats represent a Mecha human's characteristics in vehicle form, consisting of four attributes: speed, acceleration (or burst potential), stamina, and stability.

Speed and acceleration work the same way as they do in real life, so you're probably understand them. I'll go into more detail about stamina and stability.

+Stamina: This functions as a Mecha human's mana bar, similar to a motorcycle's fuel tank. However, Mecha humans don't use mana solely for movement, it's also consumed to activate something called special skills (enchantments). Once their mana is depleted, they can't use special skills, nor continue running. Therefore, this attribute is what gives races their strategic element.

+Stability: Stability represents a Mecha human's ability to withstand external forces. The higher the stability, the harder it is for a Mecha human to be knocked away when colliding with obstacles or other Mecha humans. More importantly, stability affects a Mecha human's cornering performance and ability to traverse slopes and other difficult terrain by resisting centrifugal forces.

At the same time, high stability helps Mecha humans suffer less speed loss when traversing hazardous surfaces, and also makes them less likely to lose control on such roads.

+A Mecha human's stats are a combination of base stats and rune board.

-Base stats are the innate stats each Mecha human possesses from the very beginning. Each Mecha human has different base stats, depending on their type.

+Genesis-type: Genesis-type Mecha humans have the most balanced stats among the 4 types.

They dont particularly excel in any single attribute, but likewise have no major weaknesses. As a result, they can compete effectively across a wide variety of terrains.

+Radiance-type: Radiance-type Mecha humans possess the highest stamina of all types.

They have large mana reserves, allowing for long-distance riding (outside of races). More importantly, this enables them to use special skills more frequently during races, giving them advantages if they possess powerful enchantments

In exchange for their high stamina, their burst potential is weaker than that of other types. This means they take longer to reach top speed and struggle to gain advantages in the early stages or in burst-dependent moments, like corner exits.

+Primordia-type: These Mecha humans specialize in stability.

They truly shine on tracks with hazardous terrain, numerous corners, and steep slopes. Thanks to their high toughness, Primordia-type Mecha humans can also engage directly in collisions with others, knocking opponents off the track.

However, the trade-off for this toughness is lower speed compared to other types. This means they are at a disadvantage on flat, straightforward tracks.

+Chaos-type: Chaos-type Mecha humans are speed specialists, with speed and acceleration being their strongest attributes.

Depending on the individual, some may excel in speed, others in acceleration, and some in both. Their advantage lies in dominating flat tracks with few obstacles.

The cost of this speed is low stamina. In other words, Mecha humans of this type must carefully calculate when to use their special skills, or risk stalling in the middle of a race. In addition, they are the most fragile one, with the lowest stability of all types. On hazardous terrain or in collision-heavy races, they suffer significant disadvantages.

Note that base stats vary between individual Mecha humans, even among those of the same type.

-Rune Board: Runes are equippable items that enhance a Mecha human's stats, even increasing attributes that aren't part of their base stats. The rune board is a system embedded within a Mecha human that allows riders to add runes into it.

There are 12 basic types of runes, each increasing a specific stat:

+Increase mass

+Increase tire friction

+Increase stability

+Increase tire flexibility

+Reduce mass

+Increase x2 acceleration chance

+Increase acceleration

+Increase top speed

+Increase mana regeneration

+Increase maximum mana

+Reduce enchantment cooldown

+Reduce Mana Consumption

In addition, there are multi-buff runes that provide combined bonuses, enhancing two or more of the stats listed above.

Each Mecha human has 30 slots on their rune board, meaning they can equip up to 30 runes in total. At the same time, no more than 10 runes of the same type can be equipped.

As a result, riders must carefully plan their rune configurations to maximize buffs for their Mecha humans, and obtaining as many multi-buff runes as possible.

In addition, each rune has five tiers, ranging from I, II, III, IV, to V. With each tier increase, the amount of stats granted by the rune is further enhanced. Riders can obtain higher-tier runes directly, or upgrade lower-tier runes into higher tiers.

Note: Mecha humans have stat limits, known as maximum stats (each attribute has its own independent cap). Once a Mecha human reaches the maximum value of a given attribute, they can no longer equip more runes to increase that attribute, even if the number of runes enhancing that stat has not yet reached 10.

Enchantments: Beside stats, enchantments also play a decisive role in a Mecha human's power. Enchantments are a type of equipment that grants Mecha humans special skills. There are many kinds of enchantments with a wide variety of skills, but basically, they are divided into 4 categories:

+Genesis enchantments: Enchantments originating from the Sanctuary of Genesis. Their skills usually don't overwhelmingly enhance any single aspect of a Mecha human, but instead grant abilities with unique effects that no other enchantment type can produce.

+Radiance enchantments: Products of the Sanctuary of Radiance. These enchantments focus on abilities that affect the mana bar, either the user's own mana or that of their opponents.

+Primordia enchantments: Belonging to the Sanctuary of Primordia. These enchantments provide abilities related to a Mecha human's toughness, such as increasing toughness or inflicting debuffs on enemies based on toughness-related stats.

+Chaos enchantments: Enchantments of the Sanctuary of Chaos. Their abilities are usually related to speed, including reducing the execution time of actions, skills, etc.

A Mecha human may equip enchantments of any type, regardless of their own type.

Enchantments are also divided into three tiers: Basic enchantment tier 1, Basic enchantment tier 2, and Core enchantment.

+Basic enchantments tier 1 and 2: These grant small passive abilities that usually provide only minor advantages to Mecha human.

+Core enchantments: These grant powerful abilities that have a significant impact on Mecha human's power and provide significant advantages. Core enchantment skills can be either passive or active.

To equip enchantments, a Mecha human must have enchantment branches. There are two types of branches: secondary branches and main branches. The number of each depends on the Mecha human's level (will be explained later). At most, a Mecha human can have 2 secondary branches and 3 main branches.

+Secondary branches: including one slot that allows the Mecha human to equip any Basic enchantments tier 1. Once the first secondary branch has been equipped, in the second one, the Mecha human may be equipped with either another Basic enchantments tier 1 of any type, or a Basic enchantments tier 2 of the same type as the tier 1 enchantment chosen in the first branch.

+Main Branches: consisting of three slots, allowing the Mecha human to equip two Basic enchantments and one Core enchantment respectively. Specifically, after equipping any Basic enchantments tier 1 in the first slot, the Mecha human may equip a Basic enchantments tier 2 of the same type in the second slot, and finally a Core enchantment of the same type in the last slot. This means that each main branch can only be equipped with one single enchantment type.

Important Note: Unlike the rune board, enchantments are permanent equipment, meaning that once an enchantment has been equipped, it can't be replaced with another enchantment.

Level: Level is the third factor that affects a Mecha human's strength. Mecha human's level also influences their stats and enchantments. There are 9 Mecha human levels: C, B, A, A+, S, SS, SS+, SSS, and SSS+. A Mecha human is born with a random level. Lower- Mecha humans can level-up using Mecha gems (similar to EXP), a type of resource found in the Quadrant Realm (not abundant!).

-Each time a Mecha human levels up, all base stats increase. However, their strongest attributes receive a greater increase than the others (For example: when a Chaos-type Mecha human levels up, their Speed and Acceleration increase by 2×, while the other stats increase by 1×, with x being a scaling variable that grows with level). Genesis-type Mecha humans receive equal increases to all base stats upon leveling up.

The max stat caps are also increased using a similar formula, allowing more runes, or runes with higher level to be equipped. The exact amount of base stat growth and maximum stat increase differs from one Mecha human to another.

-As a Mecha human levels up, the number of enchantment branches they possess also increases. Specifically:

At Level C, a Mecha human has one secondary branch.

At Level B, the second secondary branch is unlocked.

At Level A, the first main branch is unlocked, but only two basic enchantment slots are available.

At Level A+, the first core enchantment slot is unlocked.

At Level S, the two basic slots of the 2nd main branch are unlocked.

At Level SS, the core slot of the 2nd main branch is unlocked.

At Level SS+, the two basic slots of the 3rd main branch are unlocked.

At Level SSS, the core enchantment slot of the 3rd main branch is unlocked.

///--->>>Extremely important note: After leveling up, Mecha humans require time to adapt. Advancing to the next level during this period may cause serious damage. At the same time, the number of Mecha gems required for each level-up will increases with each subsequent level.

Damage Bar: The Damage Bar represents the level of physical damage sustained by a Mecha human. In simple terms, it functions like an HP bar, but in reverse—The higher the damage, the more severe the injury. The Damage Bar also varies between individual Mecha humans and depends on their type:

Primordial-type Mecha humans have the highest Damage Bar, meaning they are the most durable.

Chaos-type Mecha humans have the lowest Damage Bar, meaning they are the most fragile.

When the Damage Bar reaches 70% or higher, the Mecha human will be eliminated from the match.
