"How is Zelkara?"
After resting for a while, Veyra forced himself to sit back up, his gaze searching for Zelkara's figure.
Celeste led him toward Zelkara's corpse. He crouched down and reached out to touch it, then realized that something did not feel right.
He frowned a little as he pulled the black cloak draped over Zelkara's body. Once Zelkara had stopped moving, the black mist that had surrounded him disappeared immediately. The only thing that was left with his corpse was the cloak itself.
Veyra's eyes widened a little after he removed the black cloak. His hands began to tremble uncontrollably. The next moment, he covered Zelkara's body again with the cloak before Celeste got a chance to see what was beneath it.
"Veyra…?" Celeste asked with confusion.
However, the man who would normally answer her the moment she called his name did not answer her this time.
"Veyra!" she called his name again; this time, she did not control her volume.
