Chapter 4 - Chapter 3 Going Out (new)

Wang Mu used the hand that had patted her little bottom to spread his fingers and rub her head: "Little girl, you've finally gained some weight and aren't as small as before, that's good."

"You stinky big brother~!"

Wang Xin was a little angry, her cheeks flushed slightly. She turned around, grabbed Wang Mu, and bit his neck, leaving a faint hickey.

"You interrupted my game! I could have turned the tables and won!"

Her bite didn't hurt at all; it was more like she was kissing her own neck. Wang Mu chuckled and held her legs, saying softly, "You didn't even bleed from that bite just now, and you still dared to fight back? Also, go to bed early tonight. Don't wait for me; I probably won't be back until very late, okay?"

Wang Xin lifted her head from his neck, intending to settle scores with him, but upon hearing what he said, she looked directly into his eyes, as if she were staring into Wang Mu's heart.

"Where are you going now? Out in the middle of the night, looking for girls??"

The little girl lowered her legs and knelt on the sofa, her soft black-stockinged feet resting under her bottom. She took her hands off his neck, put them on her hips, and puffed out her chest arrogantly, like a haughty princess. She snorted coldly, "Anyway, it's the same old rules. No women allowed to bring home. You have to wake me up on time tomorrow morning and take me to school, understand?!"

Although the tone was cold and aloof, it was filled with deep care and affection.

She's always been like this; she never asks where you're going out.

Wherever I go, whoever I look for, I only hope that I will return safe and sound each time, and be there for her when she wakes up, when she needs me.

Wang Mu's heart was filled with tenderness. He pressed his forehead against hers, looked into her eyes, and rubbed his nose against hers a few times.

"Hmph~"

Wang Xin's eyes instantly became glazed over, her cute little cherry lips pouting as she waited patiently for his answer.

"Don't worry, I'm just going out to find something tonight. You go to bed early and don't stay up too late playing games, okay?"

"Hmm~, okay then, but I want a kiss."

Wang Xin let out a soft hum of fragrance from her nose, her expression changing from stubborn and cold to that of a charming and innocent girl.

"What a clingy little girl," Wang Mu said, then kissed her forehead, cheek, and corner of her mouth. Only then did Wang Xin release him with a satisfied, goofy smile.

After Wang Mu went downstairs, he didn't drive. He went straight to the security booth, greeted the security guard, and walked out.

Next to the wall outside the gate, there was a black Mercedes-Benz parked there. People who can afford to drive this kind of car are usually either senior executives of listed companies, CEOs, or chairmen.

Sitting in the car was a young man in his twenties, dressed in a well-fitting suit, but unfortunately his hair was parted in the middle in a traitorous style...

He was quite handsome, but when he saw Wang Mu come out of the gate in the rearview mirror, he quickly opened the driver's side door and got out of the car.

He opened the back door and greeted him respectfully, "Mr. Wang."

Wang Mu didn't show much expression. He nodded slightly, gave a calm "Mm," and got into the car. "How much longer until it starts?"

He sat in the back playing on his phone, asking without looking up.

"The auction will start in half an hour. I need your help then, sir, to ensure that Mingzheng Group does not participate in the bidding at the crucial moment, so that our Mingde Group can win bid for number 41 at the lowest possible price, which would be perfect."

Wang Mu nodded without saying anything.

This young man is Xu Ming, the president of Mingde Group, one of the three leading enterprises in G City, a family business.

Among the three major enterprises in G City, Mingde is the least powerful, with the Li family's Mingzheng Group being the most powerful. The two companies have always been bitter rivals and are also family businesses.

Second is the Zhang family's Minghai Group, well... also a family business...

Once, Xu Ming was killed by an assassin hired by his rival. Wang Mu happened to be passing by on his way home from get off work and didn't want to get involved. He just told Xu Ming to kill whoever he wanted.

As it turned out, Wang Mu simply tossed a cigarette butt out the car window, and that clueless rookie assassin pointed a gun at him, and then...

Wang Mu glanced at him, his hands crossed inside the car for a moment before he released them, and the novice picked up his gun and ended his own life...

Xu Ming, trembling and hiding to the side, stared wide-eyed in disbelief. This...this?? "Special abilities???"

At the time, Wang Mu was too lazy to pay attention to him. He still had to figure out if there were any good items at the antique auction next month. Looking at this kid, who was all dressed up and looked like a rich man, he didn't look like one at all.

Wang Mu stepped on the gas and was about to leave when, unexpectedly, this person rushed out and blocked the front of the car...

After a conversation, Wang Mu learned that this person was very rich and influential, one of the three giants of G City, and could help him with some small favors at the time.

Back in the car...

"I'll help you out this time. If there's anything I want to auction later, you have to help me win it, okay?"

Wang Mu asked calmly without looking up. In his view, everything in this society except for interests is fake, especially for these rich people, who only know about equivalent exchange.

"Of course, of course, no amount of money is a problem, as long as plot No. 41 ends up in Mingde's hands."

Xu Ming quickly nodded in agreement. What were the items at the auction? Apart from lot number 41, the rest of the items combined probably wouldn't exceed 3 billion. Lot number 41 alone had a starting price of 2.5 billion.

Besides, he wouldn't want everything he saw at the entire auction, would he...? Xu Ming thought to himself as he drove...

Before long, the car arrived at a privately owned club in the city center, a place accessible only to members, and even then, members were not something money could buy.

Those who can enter here represent a certain status and position.

They parked in a parking lot surrounded by Ferraris, Rolls-Royces, and Maseratis, and Xu Ming opened the car door for Wang Mu.

Wang Mu stepped down, his casual clothes making him stand out from his surroundings as he looked around.

I found that this place didn't have the usual glittering gold and yellow and red lighting, but rather a uniform, ordinary ancient style decoration, with a large plaque in the middle with the three big characters (Qingshui Pavilion), black with a faint gold tinge.

"Not bad." Wang Mu nodded secretly; he liked this taste.

Xu Ming led the way. There were two doormen at the entrance. After Xu Ming showed his membership card, he made a "please" gesture and let Wang Mu go in first. This made the doormen take a second look at Wang Mu. After all, Xu Ming was a public figure as the president of Mingde, and everyone knew him.

But who is this casually dressed, nonchalant young man that Mr. Xu brought today?

People around, whether they knew him or not, came over to greet Xu Ming. However, they had never seen Wang Mu before. When they saw Xu Ming, they acted as if he were their father. They hesitated, wanting to greet Wang Mu but not knowing him. What if they asked and found out that he was just a follower? That would be a misunderstanding.

Wang Mu didn't care about any of that. He didn't know them, and even if he did, it didn't matter to him. He only had one goal.

Stepping inside, the decorations are also antique, with tables, chairs, beams, and paper windows—everything is in the style of traditional Chinese architecture.

If it weren't for the fact that someone was wearing modern clothes, you might really think you'd traveled back to ancient times.

Xu Ming led Wang Mu to a private room on the third floor.

Two elegant women in traditional Chinese attire stood at the entrance of the private room. They were around twenty years old and quite beautiful. Better than any of those livestreamers.

Wang Mu really liked the atmosphere here.

"Sir, Mr. Xu, please come in."

After the two young ladies opened the door, they bowed slightly and gestured "please".

Wang Mu nodded with a faint smile and went inside first. He liked the decorations and lighting very much, and he was quite friendly to women.

Xu Ming followed him in, which was quite significant.

Those around him watched Wang Mu go in with some surprise, noticing that President Xu was following behind. It seemed he was no ordinary person, and some people were already regretting not having come up to befriend him earlier...

After Wang Mu went inside, he found that the private room was very spacious, a full 100 square meters, with a room, a bathroom, and an outdoor swimming pool.

There is also a huge floor-to-ceiling window, below which is the auction venue.

Wang Mu sat down in a seat with a view of the entire auction hall, right in the very center, the main seat.
