Chapter 14 - The First Day at the Dojo

Sunlight streamed through the tall windows of the Eternal Moons Bastion dormitory, illuminating the simple tatami mats where Abraão, Lia, and Liora slept. It was around 6 a.m. — Abraão woke to the distant sound of swords clashing in another room. The air was cold and dry, carrying a mix of lunar incense and old sweat. He stretched, feeling the sore muscles from yesterday's initiation. Level 80. The test had been straightforward, but the weight of being here, in the Dojo, was already hitting him.

Lia woke shortly after, rolling over on the mat beside him. "Morning… what time is it?"

Abraão glanced at the window. "Super early. Sun's just rising."

Liora jumped off his mat (she had slept pressed against him, as always): "Abraão-nii! Good morning! Are we training today?"

Lia gave a soft laugh. "Lio, calm down. Food first."

They got ready quickly: Abraão put on the Dojo's black tunic (basic uniform, with the lunar blade symbol on the chest), Lia the feminine version with a skirt, and Liora hers with a pleated skirt. They headed down to the communal dining hall — a large wooden room with long tables and the smell of root soup and fresh bread. Other students were already eating, talking quietly.

Abraão grabbed a tray: hot soup, bread with lunar cheese, and faintly glowing lunar fruits. They sat at an empty table.

Lia took a sip of soup. "This is good… but I'm nervous about the first training session."

Abraão: "Me too. Murata seems… weird. The way he trembles like that."

Liora: "He's nice! But I think he's hiding something. His eyes… they see things."

Lia: "You think so? He just seems like a mediocre teacher."

Abraão nodded. "There's something about him. We'll see."

They ate slowly, chatting about the day ahead. Lia: "Did you sleep okay?"

Abraão: "Sort of. I dreamed about the village… about Elias."

Lia reached for his hand under the table. "I'm here. If you want to talk…"

Liora noticed and smiled. "Abraão-nii, I'm here too! Forever!"

Abraão laughed. "You two save me every single day."

Around 8 a.m., first class. A basic room: old tatami, wooden targets, a few spare swords. Murata was already there, sweating coldly, sword in hand.

"Ah… good morning, students. We'll start with… the next attack from Lugua. It's… just follow the flow. Like this."

He demonstrated: awkward stance, trembling hand. An extremely precise cut. The target split cleanly in half.

The room went silent. One student laughed: "Lucky shot?"

Murata flushed. "Ah no… just normal… sorry if I startled you."

Abraão went first. Light Cut with an old sword. It landed crooked. Murata corrected: "Good… loosen your wrist more. Like this."

He demonstrated again — perfect cut. Abraão tried, improved.

Lia tried. Missed, laughed. Murata: "Deep breath… don't force it."

She hit it. "I did it!"

Liora did Lunar Veil Dance + cut. Murata praised: "Nice… you've got grace."

The class went on for hours. Sun hitting the windows, sweat dripping. Murata stuttered, but his pointers were razor-sharp. Abraão could feel it: "My cuts are flowing better."

Lia whispered: "He's actually good… even with the shaking."

Liora: "Abraão-nii, wanna try a combo?"

Around noon, lunch in the dining hall. Soup, bread, fruit. They sat together.

Lia: "I'm dead… but I'm learning."

Liora: "Me too! Murata-san is weird, but nice."

Abraão: "There's something about him. We'll figure it out."

Afternoon: heavier training. Murata: "Now, cutting while moving. Run and cut."

They ran across the room, slicing targets in sequence. Abraão hit every one. Lia missed two, laughed. Liora danced, landed hers gracefully.

Something happened: during one of Abraão's powerful cuts, lunar energy leaked out. The target exploded, shards flying. Murata reacted instantly: a simple cut — the shards froze in mid-air.

"Ah no… my fault… sorry."

Abraão: "That wasn't your fault. You stopped everything."

Murata flushed: "Just luck… I'm weak."

Evening: dinner in the dining hall, soup and bread. The trio talked: Lia about her fear of the Dojo, Liora about dance, Abraão about family.

Lia rested her hand on his. "Thanks for today."

Liora hugged Abraão. "Good night, nii!"

Phone buzzed: Mission "Complete one full day of classes. Post a group photo. #DojoDay"

Reward: +2 levels (82). "Basic Flow" (+5% fluidity in simple cuts).

Abraão looked up at the moons. It's starting… and I'm ready.
