Ellen immediately drove Flint to the nearest hospital. She didn't say a word throughout the ride, as she was driving at a breakneck speed, making it impossible for Flint to say anything. Less than twenty minutes later, they arrived at the hospital. Ellen, holding her friend's left hand, entered the emergency room, searching for a doctor who wasn't busy with other patients.
Flint smiled awkwardly at his friend's overreaction. Even though his injuries weren't serious, his friend was already acting as if he'd been in an accident. He wanted to stop his friend from overreacting, but she was still busy approaching a female doctor who had finished treating a patient.
Ellen reached for the doctor's hand with a look of resignation. "Doctor, could you please take care of my friend for a moment? His right hand was injured when a pile of cardboard boxes fell on it."
The doctor immediately nodded. "Okay, then follow me to my room."
