John looked at the text scrolling across his vision and sucked in a loud, cold breath of air.
"With this alone," he whispered, a fierce glint of excitement flashed in his eyes, "I can rest assured the base defences will hold infinitely. No more manual swapping. No more risk of losing a working cannon."
But as he looked at the massive, humming reactor, another thought took root. He moved his eyes across the piles of salvaged gear, the nature and greed of a hacker taking over.
"Even if I have a god-tier generator, the bottleneck is still the storage. To truly unlock the potential of the super cannons, I need to evolve the energy cells themselves. Perhaps I'll get a second surprise today."
Now that he had solved the energy source problem, he shifted his focus toward output capacity. If he could upgrade the standard energy cells to a higher tier, just as he had done with the generators, the jump in super cannons' lethality would be exponential.
