Ricky watched from a distance, breathless and covered in blood. Zockair watched from the hill, his eyes bulging in horror.
Ricky thanked his luck that he was John's friend; Zockair could only wonder what grave mistake he had committed for his perfect setup and trap to go down like this.
"Not this easily, Mr Mirage!"
Just before John could close the gap to deliver the final blow to Zockair, the woman whose neck had been cut open slowly began to rise. She didn't look human anymore. Her body stood at an impossible angle, limbs cracking and bones audibly crushing as she underwent a horrific, high-speed transformation.
"Do you think you've got what it takes to kill me?" John smirked. He didn't wait for whatever transformation Mark was planning; he leaned forward to dash, prepared to activate his absolute defensive ability at any given sign of danger.
Yet, in that same instant, the woman's body swelled like a balloon being over-pressurised. She exploded in the blink of an eye.
