Chapter 13 - Rebuilding

Besides me rage baiting the Caliphate for the past few months things have been going pretty well.

Apparently telling a foreign ruler that you can have your city and quite literally sending him the ruined and basic materials of said city was something no one has thought about.

I even had to tell the man that I said he can have the city not the land.

Teaching people wording a few hundred years early might backfire for others but will be infinitely funnier to me.

Also I'm in a much better mood.

After the funeral for my brother I had set aside both the necessary funds and materials for the brand new city I'm planning on making.

The first thing I'm focusing on is the sewage system. I'm taking the saying 'from down up" as seriously as possible, from building a massive underground hole just to store it and creating a somewhat acceptable pipe system that trickles into the ocean.

That took a single month, with the man power of nearly 100,000 people.

To say I'm taking it seriously is a massive understatement.

The districts came first, from freshly cut wood from India and China to even some expert stone masons from said areas came forth and began to take smaller areas underneath their supervision.

And with that came another fear; segregation.

Segregation always existed, mainly the caste systems, slaves, middle-men, and of course nobles. However the main problem was no doubt that race segregation was bound to happen.

The Chinese separated from the Indians, and the middle eastern separated from the Indians. Don't even get started on religious segregation.

Speaking of religion, the Sanctuary has been finished, it is kinda a marvel in late antiquity, from being nearly a kilometer in diameter with nearly every religious monument and space needed for anyone in my country when they visit.

Also an utterly massive fire place needed to keep the place warm and be a place for the Royal Persian Fire.

"My Višpazana, the foundations to the new Ctesiphon is complete" the Adviser spoke as he bowed to me, my tent was a minimalist style, a bed and a chest, nothing else.

 "Lovely, the idea is simple…"

Simple, what a lie, you'd think that these people would be dumb but it's quite the opposite; they just don't know as much as a 21st person.

"Višpazana I do not mean to sound foolish here" a few masons looked at me as if I am dumb "shouldn't we focus on building the city around your palace?"

"No" I pointed at the plans once again, it was a list of what is most important to the least important buildings.

My palace was last, as the city will stand for years, who's to say my home will?

"The market and docks are to be built first, we are in need of trade as quickly as possible" I spoke as I gestured at the list once more.

"You will build these first before we build anything else, I can suffer a tent years before a throne" I spoke as I stared into their eyes.

It was strange, I probably won't remember these guys at all, yet they will remember my directions for years to come.

Being important is strange, everyone is looking for you for a decision that you yourself aren't sure of. Sure I have immense power and a lot of knowledge but I don't know everything.

"Very well Višpazana, we will begin on this" one of them spoke as stared at the list and I nodded.

"Is that wise my Višpazana?" My Advisor spoke into my ears and I could only nod.

"Yes, I probably said it before but I'll repeat it once again, there's three main things a kingdom - let alone mine - need to be functional: Trade, Farms, and Hunters.

Trade is the easiest to explain, the start of both alliances and enemies, from two traders collaborating to stop another trader or combining their efforts to get something. It is our ticket to the outside world and also to get the things we need to both grow and stabilize ourselves.

Farms are also equally important, how will I ever eat if the farmers cannot grow? My emperors and kings can wait for comfort when they cannot eat, as such they shall always come first.

Lastly, hunting and fishing… the very start of an army begins there, they know archery, and not to mention they are… acceptable with a blade."

I exhaled as I crossed my arms.

"My… Višpazana… the rest of the nobles of the city will see this as an insult" my advisor actually looked somewhat nervous at this.

I have literally conquered an entire continent before your eyes man, grow some balls.

"If they want to throw around their weight then I'll simply strip them of their titles, there's bound to be someone more deserving and more competent than those that sit in their homes and eat all day" I shook my head as I circled the wooden table I erected in the middle of my tent.

"I want the markets erected within the year, the nobles will forever be last; if they cannot handle that then I will erase their house and we can get newer ones; better ones: you can tell that to every noble that starts making a fit about comfort" I spoke as I stared into the eyes of my Advisor.

"My… Višpazana, we could start a rebellion with those words" my advisor spoke.

"And who'd join them?" I asked as I gestured around "the citizens love me, the slaves might, but I can just grant the freedom of those who defect; fear is a great motivator, but love protects you from those who've nothing better than grasp at power that they cannot even properly hold" I huffed.

"…I need to stop rambling" I shook my head "if they decide to still put up a fight let them know their titles are hereby striped and have the day to leave my city"

I rubbed my forehead as my advisor left my tent, the biggest issue is internal, and I gotta do a lot of leg work internally in my empire.

————————

"… and I must ask once again, why is this an issue for you?" I asked as I crossed my arms staring at the young noble currently looking very sheepish right now.

"My emperor of empires, I absolutely need better loggings, my back aches, and my hands are full of blisters from the rough wood I find myself upon" the noble showed his hands and those so called 'blisters' are actually callouses.

I cannot throw him out… he technically haven't insulted me, but I can gaslight him into thinking so…

"You've just greatly insulted the most important people within our empire" now he looks pale.

"My Višpazana, I meant no offense" he shook his head.

"Not me, the people, think, use your head for just but a moment; we've allowed ourselves to burn upon the indulgence of excess within our station without realizing the hard fact: we're nothing without our people

Our food cannot be brought to our tables, not without the farmers knowledge or the hunter's traps, nor even the fisherman's secrets; they matter more than you, and forever will, I would lose you a million and more if it meant my people shall not go hungry"

He frowned at my words, which was acceptable "that is what it meant to be nobles, of higher station; were meant to be the scapegoats, the ones who're punished when the hardest decisions need to be made."

He stared into my eyes "do you understand?" I asked him as I raised an eyebrow.

"…yes, yes I understand" he nodded.

"Until the markets are done and the grand docks are finished, you shall remain in tents, unless you set aside workers to make your own domicile" I spoke.

"Our own domicile?" He raised an eyebrow.

I couldn't help but slightly smirk "I said that I will not have a proper roof under my head until my city is complete; I said nothing about any other noble" I shook my head at his widened eyes.

This gaslighting thing is kinda fun.

Alaya didn't necessarily like Gaia nor did it to them, but currently conversing with Chaldea and going over the situation with them, it cannot help but feel…

 Irritated.

"Do not listen to it master" Emiya 'Archer/Literally Satan' spoke as he glared at it from across the table.

Currently Alaya and Gaia are across Mash, Ritsuka, Solomon, Da Vinci, Archer, Jeanne D'arc, and an unusually upset Gilgamesh.

"Don't be upset Archer, it's not that bad~" lessen the blow, as always.

"Bullshit!" He slammed (gently mind you) his fist onto th desk.

"Calling himself Višpazana… 'One Above All' quite a pretentious title" Da Vinci was currently writing in a notebook that all bar her knew the depths of.

"He is forcing a second age of gods" Gaia slowly spoke.

"Yes, you said that already…" Solomon or rather Dr, Romani spoke as his coffee cup gently shook.

"Gods and Ancestral beings are being awoken; it will be akin to that of a World War when we clash" Da Vinci wrote as she spoke "us, you two, and the Ancestors vs the gods and him, quite a magical war"

"Yes, we are well aware of the drastic changes in the timeline" Alaya said rubbing their forehead as both Marsh and Ritsuka stayed silent.

"So… it sum it up… he's a beast of humanity of unknown variety, and he has genuine magic on his side" Ritsuka stared at the two concepts before him and wanted to put his head through a wall.

Mash was too busy with her anxiety to properly speak.

"Yes, which is why we're doing something entirely different, you will come with us into the pinpoint of time to truly summon any and if necessary all servants at your disposal for this… Magical World War" Alaya crossed its arms.

"That… wouldn't that ruin the timeline?" Solomon asked.

"No and yes; it'll become a paradox in a sense" Da Vinci stopped writing for a moment "we'd be summoning future and past servants in a period of time where documentation is barely in effect, and by that point any and all effects we do in that time will ripple through every single timeline: singularity or not, whatever happens there is true in every timeline… am I correct?"

 Gaia and Alaya only nodded.

"can't we just kill him from birth?" Gilgamesh spoke up in his usual posh tone only to receive a frown and a shaking head from Gaia.

"No… something powerful… is preventing us from even looking let alone touching the first few years of his life" Gaia slowly spoke it's frustration was evident.

"It's like a raid boss" Ritsuka leaned back in his chair.

"Master I strongly advise that we ignore this and continue our hunt on the Singularities" Archer crossed his arms.

"Negative, Solomon is needed" the person in question who is still upset at the sudden identity reveal a few hours ago winced.

"Alright, I'm needed, I get that" Solomon sighed.

"So… what time will we even appear?" Jeanne D'arc spoke as Mash couldn't help but continuously shake.

"659 A.D, it's the earliest we can get you to" Alaya spoke first.

"659?… the Rashidun Caliphate should still border the Byzantine Empire, no? Unless the Persian Empire still borders it" Da Vinci raised a perfect eyebrow.

"The Persian Empire borders the Byzantine Empire still, and stretches to China; it has access to Japan" Gaia informed them.

 "That's…" Ritsuka's eyes shot up.

"Middle East, India, China, possibly the pacific islands" Da Vinci nodded "nearly 6 thousand kilometers…"

"That's a lot of land" Jeanne D'arc muttered.

"Not as much as my beautiful Rome!" At this point Nero decided to present herself into both the room and into the conversation as the door was broken down and a few heads popped in.

"Nero, the master is in an important discussion!" King Arthur or rather King Artoria spoke as she peered in.

"Then we should be involved, it seems important!" Merlin gave a cat-like smile as he walked in after Nero.

After them was Lancealot giving a small smile "we should leave them, no doubt this is of importance"

Francis Drake herself bashed in with a bottle of booze in one hand, and alcohol fresh on her breath as she peered into the room and frowned as she failed to see anymore booze before she walked away.

Ritsuka only sighed as he held his head, no doubt the asinine and sheer insanity of the Chaldea Servants have weighed on him "…when can we expect to go?" He eventually asked as more and more servants flocked in.

"Anytime" it took effort for Alaya to not give a smile to the Last Master as Jack the Ripper sat on his lap.

"Give us a few" Ritsuka sighed "gotta make an announcement"

Yes, and it'll be a great announcement.

A/N: disappeared due to my personal life needing more work than on here… but I'm back!
