Chapter 87 - Two Vampires, Homura and Koharu

"Nii-san, do you want to occupy Sunagakure?"

"No." Shisui shook his head blankly.

Why would he want to occupy Sunagakure? Was the water around Konoha not good? Or was the forest air not fresh? Who would want to go to such a barren place like Sunagakure?

"Since you don't want to occupy Sunagakure, what benefit do you get from exterminating them?" Hiromi asked.

"So we won't be threatened by Sunagakure?" Shisui's natural answer turned into an unconfident question.

"Then you should plan a strategy to destroy Sunagakure." Hiromi said speechlessly.

"This..." Shisui was a bit embarrassed.

The price to completely wipe out Sunagakure was too high, it wasn't worth it. He was just thinking of eliminating some Suna ninjas to reduce the threat a bit.

Understanding this line of thought, Hiromi was even more speechless.

"You're not killing them outright, yet you're forcing them into a corner. What are you after? Are you after the thrill of them biting you?"

Shisui: "..."

Hiromi added with a sigh, "If something can be done or not done, then don't do it."

Shisui had nothing to say.

Therefore, unless it was a plan to completely destroy Sunagakure, the Uchiha clan would not push things to the extreme.

For now, Konoha had temporarily returned to a post-war calm.

The villagers all breathed a sigh of relief. The Genin and some of the Chunin felt the same way.

Only another portion of the Chunin and the Jonin had very solemn expressions. Because while the threats within the village were resolved, those outside were not.

The center of the village.

A massive tent was pitched. Inside, it was filled with Konoha's Jonin.

People like Shikaku, Inoichi, Choza, Kakashi, Yamato, Guy, Kurenai, Hiashi, Hizashi, Shibi, Hayate, Anko, Shisui, Fugaku, Itachi...

With the Hokage Building now destroyed, everyone gathered here to develop plans for the upcoming wars against Kumogakure and Iwagakure.

However, no one stood at the head of the table. Everyone was still testing the waters to see who wanted to sit there and who was qualified to do so.

At that moment, two elderly figures entered from outside, exuding an air of authority.

"Is everyone here?"

No one answered them.

A group of Uchiha standing behind Shisui stared at the two with narrowed eyes. Their gazes became particularly hostile when they saw the pair walk toward the main seat as if they owned the place.

Shikaku felt a massive headache coming on as he watched this. Admittedly, Koharu and Homura were Hokage Advisors and the most senior figures in the village after Hiruzen's death.

But you have to read the room!

The hostility radiating from the Uchiha was noticed by others, who remained silent and quietly distanced themselves from the Uchiha and the two advisors to avoid being caught in the crossfire.

Just then, a young Uchiha couldn't help but sneer, "I didn't see you coming out during the battle, but as soon as there's something to gain, you're so eager to step forward?"

Bang!

Homura slammed his hand on the table, instantly making the atmosphere tense.

He glared angrily at the Uchiha youth. The Uchiha youth, naturally, was not intimidated.

Seeing this, Homura turned to Shisui and gave a threatening warning, "Uchiha clan head, control your clansmen."

"Heh, old geezers hiding away to survive..."

The Uchiha youth was about to say more when he saw Shisui turn around. The Mangekyo appeared in Shisui's eyes, staring at him with terrifying ocular power. It made him feel like an ant being watched by a giant, filling his heart with endless dread.

"Get out." Shisui said.

The other Uchiha Clan Members looked at Shisui in disbelief upon hearing this. They had just been sneering, waiting for Koharu and Homura to make fools of themselves, but they never expected Shisui to actually help them.

Why?

We're of the same clan!

The other Jonin gaped, their gazes toward Shisui filled with surprise. They hadn't expected Shisui to yield, it seemed the Uchiha clan had grown. They had become more tactful.

Gentle smiles appeared on their faces, especially after seeing the Uchiha youth open his mouth, only to walk out in total frustration.

The Uchiha can finally prioritize the bigger picture!

They were very pleased.

Only Shikaku's expression was extremely grim.

Sunagakure's attack on the village.

Hiruzen being killed by Orochimaru.

The Sarutobi Clan sacrificing themselves against One-Tail, leaving no remains.

Numerous villagers being cruelly murdered by Sunagakure.

A attacking the village.

Iwagakure and Kumogakure declaring war.

Behind all of this was the manipulation of Hiromi.

It could be said that Konoha was now the Uchiha's domain, it just depended on whether Hiromi was willing to make it so.

But now, Shisui was scolding his own clansman for the sake of Koharu and Homura, causing the Uchiha clan to lose face.

What was the reason for this?

He instantly thought of two reasons.

First, not indulging the clan's arrogance, suppressing them so they could see themselves clearly.

Second, biding time, just like the massacre of the Shimura and Sarutobi, to wipe out the Utatane and Mitokado clans overnight.

Suddenly, his pupils trembled slightly as he looked at Shisui.

He quickly composed himself but in that brief moment, Shisui had caught it.

Shisui bowed slightly to Shikaku as if nodding, appearing harmless and extremely polite.

This was because Hiromi had said that Shikaku could see the future much more clearly than Fugaku. This was the first time the Mangekyo had lost to an outsider, but it also proved how terrifying Shikaku's intelligence was.

Regardless, the fact that he stood behind Hiruzen on the night of the Uchiha massacre said everything.

He was being polite to Shikaku now only because it wasn't time to deal with the Nara Clan yet.

Not starting a conflict with Koharu and Homura now was also to deal with external threats first. Only then could he clear his hands to deal with Koharu, Homura, and the clans behind them.

He was learning and practicing Hiromi's words—"If something can be done or not done, don't do it."

He could choose not to give Shikaku a cold shoulder, but there was no need to.

Though it was a bit frustrating, this was what Hiromi expected.

Hiromi could be arrogant because he had the system but the other Uchiha didn't have the system, so they naturally couldn't be as recklessly provocative as him.

Within the current Uchiha clan, Hiromi only recognized a dozen or so people, including Shisui. They could distinguish between their own abilities and those of the clan, understood their positions, and wouldn't feel the Uchiha clan was invincible just because of the power Hiromi brought.

Shikaku was unaware of these internal Uchiha matters but he could sense Shisui's detachment. With just that one expression, he instantly confirmed that even the Uchiha clan didn't know about Hiromi coming to see him.

'Was it just your personal curiosity about my choice?'

He sighed.
