Chapter 210 - Chapter 123: A Grieved Zeus

After an unknown amount of time, when Zeus opened her aching eyes, Hades was no longer by her side, leaving only a cloak draped over her and some food. It seemed Hades also needed time to face Zeus.

Slowly recovering some of her strength, Zeus painfully recalled the madness of that period. She had been repeatedly waking up, passing out, waking up, passing out, over and over again.

She laboriously propped herself up with her hands, feeling her body as heavy as a thousand pounds. But the most troublesome part was her lower body; she couldn't feel any reaction from it at all, no sensation whatsoever.

"How could this be!"

Feeling that something was not right, Zeus reached down to touch her ivory-white legs. When she felt their smooth texture, Zeus couldn't help but sigh in relief. She had thought she was amputated!

"This is too much."

Throwing off the cloak that blocked her view, Zeus looked at her swollen and purple lower 'beep,' her mind a bit numb. She had never expected Hades could do this to her, practically leaving her no way out.

"Hiss~! It really hurts."

Using the divine power that was slowly awakening, Zeus began to heal her'scarred' body. As she healed, Zeus's lower body slowly regained sensation, but the waves of intense pain caused beads of fragrant sweat to seep from her forehead.

"Alright, let's eat something first!"

After about half an hour, looking at her lower body, which had mostly recovered, Zeus wiped the sweat from her forehead and said tiredly. It was truly too painful. She laboriously reached out to grab the food Hades had placed by the bed. She wasn't the kind of person to be defeated by a mere 'trifle.' After experiencing this twice, the third time...

"How could I get used to it!"

After chugging down the soup in the bowl, Zeus angrily threw the bowl against the wall, and the spoon in her hand was crushed into powder.

"Who exactly ambushed us? Our familial affection was perfectly fine; how am I supposed to face her now?"

Clutching the bedsheets tightly, tears of sadness and anger flowed from Zeus's eyes.

"Why are you doing this to me? What have I done?"

Zeus screamed madly at the ceiling, looking upward. She didn't understand why she was so unlucky. First, there was Gaia, then Alaya, and now Hades. She was completely at their mercy. Even if she was easygoing, she would still harbor resentment, wouldn't she? Getting pregnant was one thing; the child was innocent, and she could forgive that. But what about the culprits? She couldn't defeat them; she was just a lamb to the slaughter in front of them. Yes!

If I can't defeat them, can't I at least hide? But why can't I even hide now? If Fate were to materialize in front of Zeus right now, Zeus would want to perish with it. Why toy with her like this? What did she do wrong to be made to suffer again and again?

"What am I supposed to do! Fate, you 'beep' of a bitch, what do you want from me? Do you want to play me to death?"

"If I die, will you be happy? Fine, I'll die for you to see."

At this moment, the mentally unstable Zeus cried out madly to the empty surroundings, then pulled out a sword from her spatial earring. It was inscribed with ominous characters, but anyone could feel the strong killing intent emanating from it. This was a demonic sword; while it couldn't harm conceptual gods, killing Zeus, who had not yet comprehended the ten senses, was more than enough.

"Zeus, no!"

Hades, who had just returned, heard the sound from inside the house, a sound as if the heavens and earth had abandoned her. She froze, then realizing something was wrong, she dropped the ingredients in her hand and rushed into the room. Seeing Zeus about to commit suicide, Hades quickly cast a divine spell on the sword, knocking it away, then rushed forward to tightly restrain the 'life-weary' Zeus.

Hades looked at Zeus, bewildered, her eyes filled with fear. If she had returned any later, she dared not imagine the consequences.

"I don't want to hate you, Sister. Let me go!"

With her head bowed, tears streamed down Zeus's cheeks. She spoke to Hades in a flat voice tinged with grievance.

"Does being with me make you so miserable?"

Hades asked Zeus, somewhat sadly. She hadn't expected her sister to try to commit suicide. Even if she didn't want to be with her, she couldn't give up her life!

Zeus didn't speak; she was also very conflicted. She couldn't very well say, 'I was a man in my previous life, and then I got 'beeped' by women, which makes me very sad psychologically.' This made her feel like she had no dignity, more like a breeding machine.

"Zeus, my poor sister, I don't pray that you will stay with me forever, but I only want you to live happily, to be joyful every day. If because of me you can't feel the joy of living, then let me go before you."

Looking at the despondent Zeus, Hades sadly stroked her beautiful silver hair, then picked up the sword and stabbed herself.

Hades, not feeling any pain, opened her eyes in confusion, seeing Zeus tightly gripping the blade. Golden blood dripped from the sword onto her, staining Hades's clothes gold.

"Clang~!"

Taking advantage of Hades's distraction, Zeus snatched the sword from her hand and threw it out the window.

"I'm sorry, thank you for tolerating my willfulness, Sister."

She wrapped her arms tightly around Hades. This was her sister, a sister who truly cared for her. She didn't want to burden her anymore, but she couldn't ignore the love that was truer than pure gold. She, Zeus, was not a heartless person who didn't know how to cherish those around her; she was just unfortunate about her own circumstances.

"Don't worry, I'm here for everything. This is your home, and my embrace is always open for you."

Hades held Zeus, who appeared small in her arms, tightly and said earnestly.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry for making you worry, but I... I!"

Zeus spoke in a muffled voice in Hades's arms, full of grievance. As she spoke, the grievances in her heart began to erupt, and Zeus started to cry bitterly, as if wanting to vent all her sorrows. She cried very sadly.

Hades gently patted Zeus's back, stroked her long hair, and lovingly embraced her youngest sister. Zeus, only about two hundred years old, was like a child in their eyes. For such a 'young child' to suffer such misfortune, Hades couldn't help but feel anger towards Gaia.

Finally, the exhausted Zeus fell asleep in Hades's arms. Hades gently kissed Zeus's forehead, then covered her with a blanket. After treating the wound on Zeus's hand, Hades went to prepare some ingredients so that Zeus could eat when she woke up.

And also to dispose of the weapon and the bloodstains on herself.
