Chapter 228 - Chapter 141: Fate is Predetermined

After instructing Shennong, Zeus turned into a wisp of green smoke and disappeared, startling Shennong, who was standing in front of Zeus, and she hastily knelt down.

"So, Benefactor possesses such divine power! I was truly blind. It seems I've met an immortal; truly a stroke of luck."

After kowtowing three times at the spot where Zeus disappeared, Shennong stood up, sighing with emotion.

Then, carrying the herbs she had collected, she turned and left the mountain. Too many wondrous things had happened today; she needed to go home and sort out what she had seen and heard.

"Her name is Xuanyuan, right? Hmm, I'll think about it when I meet her."

As she spoke, Shennong began walking towards her small wooden house. She had no idea this was the beginning of a bitter love, that she would truly taste the sweet, sour, bitter, spicy, and salty flavors of 'love.'

No longer bothering with the still-troubled Shennong, Zeus had now returned inside the xuanyuan sword and resumed her cultivation. She was now very much looking forward to what kind of sparks the two would ignite.

Gossip in her heart, Zeus began to enter a state of cultivation. Now, her divine soul was slowly solidifying from its ethereal state, and the divine power she could mobilize had increased. She had originally thought that losing her body would affect her ability to perceive the energy between heaven and earth, but recently she discovered that in a soul state, she was more intimately connected to the world than when she had a body, and the natural energy she could perceive was also stronger, about twice as much.

Her godhead became more solid than before. Zeus had more than once marveled at this situation, truly a blessing in disguise. If things continued this way, the divine body condensed from her godhead would be at least twice as strong as her original body.

"What I lack most now is time, but it's also good not to have a body, this way Gaia's tracking divine spells won't be on me."

Thinking this, Zeus began to enter a selfless state. She didn't need to be like cultivators who had to manage their mindset and could only enter a state when they calmed down. Zeus was different; her starting point was stronger than that of cultivators. She could always seal off her chaotic inner self and quickly adjust to an optimal state, entering cultivation mode.

"Hoo! Hoo!"

While Zeus was cultivating, Xuanyuan was already standing on the corpse of a Honkai Beast as huge as a small mountain, breathing rapidly as if her lungs were about to explode. Not far away were the corpses of smaller Honkai Beasts she had killed. She was now completely drenched, as if she had just been pulled out of water, her clothes soaked with sweat.

As she was rushing to recover her strength, another small wave of Honkai Beasts began to run towards her not far away.

"Hoo~! I… will… not lose to you evil demons."

Feeling the ground tremble, Xuanyuan, already familiar with combat, raised her head and looked with determined eyes at the Honkai Beasts getting closer. Although her physical strength was now overdrawn, to ensure that people would no longer be plagued by these 'evil demonic beasts,' she would kill them all, even if it meant her death.

After a roar, Xuanyuan raised the xuanyuan sword in her hand and charged towards the foremost Honkai Beast.

"It's been four days, why hasn't the girl the immortal sister mentioned appeared yet?"

Shennong muttered as she brewed medicine in the courtyard. Soon, she realized there was no more water at home.

"Hmm! If I'm quick, I should be back before it boils dry."

She hesitated, looking at the medicine in the pot. Finally, she thought about it; the stream wasn't far from her house, so she should be able to return before the medicine boiled dry. So she quickly grabbed a bucket and ran towards the stream.

She filled the bucket in the familiar stream. As she was about to head back, she suddenly saw a patch of blood.

"This is!? Human blood, someone is injured."

Shennong dipped her finger in the blood, smelled it under her nose, and finally determined that someone was injured nearby. So, she began to follow the blood trail downstream.

After walking for about three minutes, she saw a blood-soaked figure leaning against a tree, holding a golden sword. Driven by the principle of a physician's parental heart, she quickly examined the girl's injuries and found that it was merely excessive blood loss. Shennong breathed a sigh of relief, quickly carried the girl on her back, leaving the water bucket behind, and ran towards her home.

After a flurry of activity, she finally cleaned the girl's wounds, applied herbal paste, and bandaged them. By the time she finished, the medicine in her pot had dried up. She had to quickly go back to the stream to retrieve the bucket and water, then brew a new batch of herbs. Two hours later, she poured the brewed medicine into a bowl and walked towards the girl she had saved, but she didn't expect the other party to already be awake.

The girl first smelled the medicinal scent on her body, then looked at Shennong standing at the doorway, and gratefully said to Shennong.

"You're welcome, saving people is a pharmacist's duty."

Shennong looked at the girl's beautiful face and said shyly.

"By the way, what's your name? Why did you faint by the stream?"

Seeing the girl stroking her treasured sword, Shennong asked curiously. The girl, who was asked, paused, then slightly raised her head to look at Shennong and said seriously:

"My name is Xuanyuan."
