Chapter 99 - Chapter 99: Black Blind Box: Kryptonian Bloodline & The Lucky Domino

"I'm satisfied with the Glint-Glint Fruit from the purple box."

This added versatility to Vincent's arsenal and significantly boosted his speed.

After consuming the Glint-Glint Fruit, a flood of information rushed into his mind. Having already pushed two other fruits to Tier 3, Vincent was a veteran. He quickly mastered the basics of light manipulation.

"No conflicts. No 'Devil Fruit Curse'. In fact, eating the Glint-Glint Fruit seems to have synergized with the Ice and Fire powers."

He pushed the thought aside.

That was just the Purple Box.

He still had the Black Blind Box.

The concept of the Black Box was simple: Despair for your enemies.

"Black Despair."

Whether it would make his enemies despair, Vincent didn't know. But with three Devil Fruits, nearly limitless wealth, and desire points, beating Thanos was practically guaranteed.

Still, the Black Box filled him with anticipation.

"System, open the Black Blind Box."

A flash of black light.

It looked like deep space birthing a powerful star.

From within the star floated a figure in a black suit with a red cape. The 'S' shield on his chest made Vincent's heart race.

The true God among men.

Clark Kent. Kal-El.

The Man of Steel. Even as a hologram, the pressure was immense.

[Congratulations! You have obtained the Kryptonian Bloodline (Kal-El Template).]

Vincent felt his body undergo massive changes.

The bloodline was still young, but he could feel his potential becoming infinite.

His already inhuman body, boosted by the Elephant Strength and Dragon Vein, was now fusing with the Kryptonian gene.

The terrifying surge of power nearly blew the roof off his villa.

Vincent put on his Sling Ring, channeled his Hydro-Magic, and opened a portal to the frozen wastes of the Arctic.

He stood on the highest peak of an island he had personally frozen.

Facing the East, he watched the sun rise.

His cells drank the solar radiation greedily. His pores opened, welcoming the baptism of stellar energy.

From this moment on, even without the System, as long as he had sunlight, he would eventually surpass Superman.

His genes held infinite possibilities.

"And there is no Kryptonite in this world!!!"

Vincent grinned radiantly.

Even if there were, he had:

Three Devil Fruits.Sovereign-level Water Magic.Sovereign-level Telepathy.Tier 13 Dragon-Elephant Wisdom Art.

He was unstoppable.

He checked his new stats.

Vincent hovered over the ocean.

Without using magic or fruit powers, he just... flew. Bio-electric flight.

BOOM.

He broke the sound barrier instantly, causing a massive sonic boom that shook the sky.

He turned into a beam of light and vanished.

In an instant, he rematerialized in Central Park.

He used his psychic power to distort perception so no one noticed his sudden appearance.

"With the System, both my Kryptonian blood and my martial arts can grow infinitely."

Vincent walked through the park, looking out of place in his thin clothes among the morning joggers.

Suddenly, a hooded figure approached him.

Something hard pressed against his waist. A gun.

"Don't scream. It won't end well for you. Keep walking," the thug whispered.

"I don't have cash. I even forgot my phone. You picked the wrong guy to rob," Vincent almost laughed.

What bad luck. Robbing the Ice Demon?

"Kid, I've been watching you. You bought that villa from NBA star Abel. It's just down the street," the thug sneered.

Vincent frowned. His location was leaked?

He scanned the thug's mind. Ah. Abel got drunk at a party. This idiot heard him. Bad luck for both of them.

Vincent was about to mentally suggest the thug go jump in a lake, when a hand grabbed the thug's wrist.

The gun was snatched away in a blur.

"My luck told me coming to Central Park would be good today."

A lazy, cheerful voice.

Vincent turned to see a stunning woman with a massive afro and bronze skin. She was tall, athletic, and wore a tight leather outfit.

Domino. Neena Thurman.

The mutant with probability manipulation. Luck itself.

"Thanks, miss. You saved me from a bad day," Vincent played along.

"No problem, pal," Domino grinned, holstering the gun. "My luck says you can help me. I'm in New York on a job for Wade. Looking for a girl named Inez Temple."

Wade Wilson? Deadpool?

"You found the right person. I know exactly where Inez is," Vincent smiled.

Wait. If she's looking for Inez... the timeline is messy. But who cares?

"Awesome! Hey handsome, can you take me to her?" Domino asked enthusiastically.

"Of course. Meeting me really is your good luck," Vincent sighed.

Even with her luck power, Vincent could kill her. But she "saved" him. He wasn't cold-blooded enough to kill a savior.

And if she was lucky... maybe she could be his lucky charm.

Vincent grabbed Domino's waist.

"Whoa?" Domino gasped.

WHOOSH.

They shot into the sky.

The speed was blinding.

"We're here," Vincent said, letting go.

They stood on the helipad of Oscorp Tower.

"Wow. Did I just save a superhero? Or is that mugger the lucky one?" Domino laughed, unfazed.

"I don't know if he's lucky or unlucky. He tried to rob the Chairman of Oscorp, who also happens to be the Ice Demon," Vincent said, hands in pockets, smiling like a god bathing in sunlight.

Domino's eyes widened.

Then she shrugged.

"Well, I saved you. Even the Ice Demon wouldn't kill his savior, right?"

"There are only two types of people who know my identity: Friends and Enemies. Which one are you, Domino?"

"Being your friend would be my honor," Domino extended her hand.

Vincent took it.

With his other hand, he slashed the air.

A sparkling portal opened to his office.

"Is that your superpower too?" Domino asked, staring at the golden ring.

"This is a Sling Ring. A gift from the Sorcerer Supreme. It's magic," Vincent explained.

"Magic?!" Domino was impressed. New York was wild.

"I think I should introduce you to the Ancient One. She'd love a student with your... talents," Vincent mused.

Domino bowed dramatically, giving Vincent a generous view of her cleavage.

"Please do introduce me!"

Lethal weapon indeed, Vincent thought.
