"If to ignore all the happenings from 3 days ago in this place, I must say, the landscape that surrounds your home, is quite beautiful" Shokui states. "Especially those mountains in background"
A little confused about the origin of this question, but instead of holding it inside, he asks. "What's so weird about them, it sounds a bit as if you never seen a mountain before" Aki scratches in an expression of wonderment
"Not at all, as a matter of fact, I had also seen many mountains back when I was yet alive." Stating with amusement, bragging a bit "I had been born also in a place near mountainous landscape, but unlike you, those mountains hadn't been that close to my home."
~
Pulling one of the many arrows stuck in the ground. He recalls, it's the same place where Aki had been previously with his brother when he was yet alive, this time however, he unfortunately had lost his childish ignorance. So, this time his stare is quite cold when he looks at it. Holding with two of his hands the arrow, observing its iron head.
Meteo notices fast that it has some kind of substance that covers the arrowhead, either it being a poison, or some kind of numbing substance that would paralyze someone. Shokui guesses it's the latter, Aki nods. He recalls dad telling him that horn hares have a really fast metabolism. Shokui knows that's not the point of why, but he doesn't mention that.
Looking around the place, he finds multiple arrows stuck in between of the tall grass. He doesn't know what had happened here, it's nearly improbable so to think that those arrows had come ricocheted from the battlefield that was happening inside of the forest.
The distance is too wide.
So then;
There must had been some other humans here that were pushed back to meadow, and unfortunately either immediately found them two, there-forth shoot his brother; or second option, one of the arrows coincidentally found itself in a trajectory to his brother Hee's neck, they heard the yelp and found him already dead.
Out of the two options, he finds the latter more probable to what must had happened here.
~
"Cool. So... why the sudden attention to the mountains" Aki asks within the mindscape, not the outside. After all, it doesn't really matter where he says that, and if per chance someone were to see him talking to nothing, they would probably see him as crazy.
Though, considering he is a child, Shokui doubts anyone would call him mad.
"If I were to say, it's those trees at the top." Saying in retrospect. "And how this particular shape of a mountain is cut so smoothly for such long stretch to the top." Shokui notes the unusualness of how smooth it all looks as if it was pushed directly from the ground. "It's not like I don't know of such things existing on my planet Earth, but it doesn't look for me as if it was some petrified bark of a tree from the water flood that happened thousands of years ago"
"Huh? You mean you had such large trees reaching the sky" Aki asks. "No, better question, I may not know what planet means exactly, but I guess it's meaning on somewhat level, but really; 'Dirt'?"
Shokui rolls his eyes, it's not like it was him that named the Earth. "Call it Terra then, your language here is anyway more of a Romanic relativity"
"it's still 'Dirt', you know. And what you mean by Roman thing-tivity, I hear you talking normally all the time. Just now I even head you say 'Dirt' two times"
"Oh, right"
"What, right?"
"I forgot to say before that we are not even talking to each other in the same language"
"Huh?"
"Yeah, it's our souls talking to each other, you think spirits need language to communicate?"
"Oh.. That's a good point." Pauses in thought "Can it be turned off?"
"Nope."
"... Not even when you are in control of the body?"
"You would still hear me speaking your language. Plus, it's a possession what I do, I puppetteer your body to say all those things, not exactly full control, you see."
"Oh. Could you explain better? I don't understand"
"Think of it as soul thinking of one, mind translating, and mouth speaking the translated."
"Oh! Now I get it"
"Good"
~
Mateo points at the mountain with flabbergastion written on his face, not believing it at all.
"So, what about the trees." Asks while pointing at the mountain-scape. Aki asking the question out loud as Meteo
~
"Recall when I talked about Bible?"
"Yeah, what's that?"
"Basically, think of it as word of God." Elaborating immediately after. "Given to us by God who wrote it by the use of 40 authors. It's basically a sum of 73 books; 39 of which being the Old Testament and 27 New Testament. The last 7 being deuterocanonical books, which is also part of the Old Testament"
"What's a New Testament and Old Testament"
"Think of it as the Old Testament explaining the origin of humans and actions of what they done. Oh, and of course - their relationships with God. New Testament on the other hand is about the Son of God descending onto the world, paying for consequences of our past and future, sins, with his blood. In addition of given to us a revelation about how the world will end"
"The world will end?"
"Think of it as a final cleansing of the world before the coming of the God"
Nods.
"So back to the trees."
"Yes yes. According to the lore within the Old Testament, there had been giants living on Terra, at the beginning of its creation, so yes, although it sounds crazy to imagine trees as large as mountains, there are signs in nature that even time couldn't erase, which although it is not clear whether those huge mountains were those trees, but it's quite probable considering their shape and the descriptions in Bible."
"Wait, giants?" Aki pauses. "Like a tall humans or something?" Trying to imagine a very large human.
Seeing Aki thoughts materializes pictures within the mindscape, in distance far from them, Shokui states - "Much larger I have to say... I don't know the exact number of height of those Giants, considering they went down with the flood - that God had sent on Terra to clean all of the Evil out of it." Saying while idly walking around. "What I know however, is that after the flood, there had been some of the descendants of Nephilim left, somehow, which was stated that they were approximately 270 centimetres of height. Maybe shorter, maybe taller - Hebrews didn't exactly use standardized metric system back then. They used length of elbows up to fingertips – cubits; and length from smaller finger to the thump while the hand is fully outstretched – span." He shows by using his arm as example. Placing two of his fingers against the snout's chin in the expression of great consideration, after. Thinking. "It is quite difficult to say the exact number, but considering those trees were cut so the Giants wouldn't be able to climb them and survive the flood, I would have to say that those Giants pre-flood must had been quite tall." Pausing. Continuing to walk idly "And that's if we won't consider it as metaphor but as literal form of speech."
"Oh no, what have I done. He started to babble again"
"On one hand, it was said that those trees were as tall as to reach the heaven, which wouldn't necessarily necessate them for being that large, only strong enough to climb fast enough so to endure the flood. And considering those giant origins were that of being half angel half human, strength wouldn't be that much of a problem."
"Alright stop, my head is about to burst smoking"
"Oh..." Blushing out of awkwardness, it being quite noticeable considering his fur within the mindscape being black, not as red as Aki's.
Spinning on a single foot to hide his face from the direction of Aki's sight, not that its helpful, he continues to move idly as if he hadn't previously been mumbling thousand thoughts a minute, forgetting about it being him trying to explain something, but getting philosophical instead, monologuing.
"Anyywayyy~" Shokui chuckling at himself.
Aki joining the laugh.
~
Doing it also on the surface, snickering, Aki as Meteo continues to stroll around the place, though, after a second, it turns more in a difficult smile, losing it completely as he sits in the middle of grass where he sees dried pool of blood and signs of struggling everywhere.
It must had been here where Rubi'i found brother Hee.
He looks at the sky.
Sigh.
His eyes unconsciously tear up, but soon enough before any tears can come, he immediately wipes his eyes off of the coming wetness.
His other hand unconsciously clenched so hard that the arrow he held so far – snaps in two.
~
"Why not to clean this place and dig here for those... How do you call place where you make funeral?" Aki asks
"Graveyard." Responds with not much of a thought, continuing not long after. "And a place where the body is placed - grave. But. Are you sure you want to make this spot for funeral a place like this?"
"Yeah..."
~
Meteo's mouth sparking alive as he opens it, he burns the whole area into the charcoal and ash, leaving a small clearing empty of everything but just grassless dirt.
"Mi'i ani'i Shokui, could you give me a favour and make this place look good?" Aki asks through his real world's mouth, forcibly switching places with Shokui, giving him his body. "Just tell me when you need me to dig, so I'll switch" He adds from the location of mindscape.
"..." It taking a second for the realization that the surrounding had just changed to that of the outside environment and that he had been bamboozled. Shokui looks at the charred space from any grass within this meadow.
Sigh.
"Sure, kid." Shokui responds with tiredness in his tone, accepting the work with just a single sigh. Not like it's first time it had happened, it's just a first time in this life. First of many. "Why must I be the only responsible adult within the area." He adds, saying it basically just for himself to listen.
Not thinking for too long on how to, he simply goes back into the forest from which he takes 12 sticks. Length not mattering in the decision of picking, he simply takes any he sees first, any that caught his eye's fancy.
Moving all of the stick into single batch held within his left arm; right removing sticks from the said batch one by one - impaling the dirt with the improvised rods until none of the sticks are left within the grasp of his right hand to use - he creates a makeshift areas of where all of the tombs will be located, and the holes for them - digged.
After doing so, Meteo's eyes morph into the Migawari pattern again;
From his hands as source, the carbon fiber strings fall off, detaching them with a single thought. He wraps them around the sticks, tying the 4 of them into one pair, repeating it for the 8 - yet no tied together - sticks. Doing it all, he created 3 of rectangle shape areas of 2 different lengths and widths. On the outside, the 2 bigger ones are for Aki's and Ruby's mother and father; and the one on the inside, the smaller one, being prepare for the little Hee, their eldest brother.
Returning to the forest, second soul symbol flashes red within his vortex shape pattern, making the new strings into sharper version of themselves. The plasma like strings go forth and cut a single tree down, leaving a single trunk behind. Removing the bark, he smooths the log, cutting it into planks.
On each individual plank he creates on two ends two different cuts, one hollowed space into a trapeze that's the smaller base located on the outside; and the second end reversibly, hollowing the outside part so that the two parts would fit if placed together. Repeating that multiple times, he attaches 4 desks into one layer, he copies that 5 more times, combining them into a box shape.
Having in mind that each layer is not yet attached correctly, if used like that it undeniably be falling apart, he makes holes in 3 different places on the width of each plank - on the two corners symmetrically to each other and centre.
Inserting into the holes – rods – he successfully makes half of the construct.
Doing the same thing but this time he creates countertop - it's base - he places it on the previously made walls, drills holes to insert another rods, attaches with each other the two separate wooden constructs into one bigger one and Vuala.
He successfully creates a coffin.
Knowing it's not all of the work yet done, Shokui then drills on the inside part of the coffin walls - a hollow insert part for a lid.
Repeating previous step to create another panel, this time he hollows the corners and tests whether it fits to the coffin as lid.
It does.
If it not, he fixes the disproportions until the lid perfectly fits.
For the coffin to stay locked he creates in the corner of where the coffin and its lid connects, a rectangle hole where a plank will be later on inserted, so to seal the coffin pernamently. Especially considering that the wood will eventually expand, which will indeed mean that the coffins will be impossible to later on open; unless broken in by force.
...
After doing the same process for two more times, he returns to home from where he grabs some skins that never had been preciously used for anything, returning then back to the construction area, he places those skins on the inside part so to cover the wood.
It took 2 hours to complete those 3 coffins, most of it being from trial and error while the construction process of the first casket.
After gaining the experience though, making second took less, even less time when making the third.
...
Not knowing whether to smile or not seeing his work finished, instead he continues making the small graveyards. This time gathering rocks.
You can't expect a smile from a Slav. Slavic people are never satisfied.
...
Changing his mind mid step, instead he goes in the direction of the river where he'll look for clay.
...
On the second thought he returns to the side of where he previously made coffins. First, he'll try to make brick molds; secondly, he must return to home for the wooden bucket of much larger size. He knows there must be at least one.
After making 2 molds, he does exactly that, he goes to home. Pausing, he steps back and brings with himself those two molds due to not wanting to walk twice, he places them in the bucket and relocated to the riverside.
Materializing a shovel with his strings, he is not surprised when it falls apart after first try of digging a hole in ground. Making few more attempts after multiple failures, he finally creates a durable enough shovel to actually do something with it other than glaring at it as it breaks with a single swing.
Noice.
Now the worse part, looking for clay.
...
Good news, it's not that hard to find clay.
Bad news, he's all dirty. Worse news, he's tired. Bad news, he had been found by Rubi'i after she had woken up. Good news, he had been found by Rubi'i after she had woken up.
Slave detected.
Cough.
I mean helper.
Yes. Helper.
...
Materializing in front of the Rubi'i all dirty from looking for clay
"Yo!"
He's not surprised seeing Rubi'i stagger back, falling on her ass - seeing him so suddenly materializing in front of her.
"Ouch". She says while lying on the ground. Massaging her furry buttocks while standing up.
"So~ sis. Might helping your bro?" Shokui asks cheerfully
"I was about to ask what you doing, but why must you had suddenly appeared after just seeing me." Still massaging her buttocks.
"Ah, I was just happy to see you that much~" Giggling.
...
"I am happy to see you too!" She replies cheerfully, but her tone changes immediately after. "... but you could had said~ something when leaving. I was worried not seeing you after waking..." She pouts adorably.
"Well, unlike someone, I don't need to nap after eating." Placing his hands on her shoulders, stopping her from finding any possible escape routes. "But that doesn't matter. What matters is that you are here~." He says, adding after a second of pause. "So. Elle'e. Mind helping?" His eyes sparkling.
"Sure..." A bit weirded out, but she replies in a positive manner, nevertheless. "But what are you doing here anyway."
"Ah nothing, just been looking for clay. I thought for a second about you helping me finding more, but I have a better idea~." Turning them around. "You see that pile?" Says from behind her while pointing at the pile of clay he digged out.
"Yeah?" She confused about what's happening just now. "And what's clay."
"Clay is something sticky that if dried gets as hard as rock. Cool, isn't it?"
"Yeah..." Awkward silence while looking at the pile of clay. "So, what exactly you want me to do?"
"Good good, come, I will show you" He pulls her forward, moving with her. It taking not long to get them two to the pile. "You just have to sit here and..." thinking for a second as he molds with his hands a makeshift brick form. "Make a dozen of these." He shows her a brick shape clay form
"And what's a dozen?..."
"About..." He starts to measure with his fingers forming a makeshift measurement of a finished brick and starts counting in his head, realizing not long after that she can't count, instead he uses his Migawari multifunctional abilities of strings, the plasma ones to be specific this time, he drills in dirt holes in a repeating pattern. "Just do until all of those are filled with the clay molds. Alright?"
"..." Her eyes widening. "So many...?"
"Yeah. So many."
"Will you catch me if I'll run now?"
"Indeed~ I will."
"..."
"I will tickle too." He adds.
She flashes in front of the pile of clay as if her life depended on it. Seeing this, Shokui giggles.
Seeing her making the clay molds so diligently, he picks one of the brick-molds and throws inside of it a bunch of sand, having one clay brick already prepared by himself, he grabs it and pulls it with his arms above his head, then throwing it inside the mold. After completing that, he fixes the proportions of the clay to fit the shape more smoothly. He then throws at it sand again.
After doing so he takes the brick-mold with the clay inside of it and shoots it out of the form with simple plunge thrust of his hands by holding the handles, resulting in making the brick fall off the brick-mold to dry in the sun. He then throws the mold inside of the water filled bucket and then takes from it the second mold he had made before. Repeats the process with the new clay formed brick that Rubi'i just made.
Over and over, and over, and over, and over, again.
