When the two siblings opened their eyes, they found themselves falling down inside a wormhole surrounded by ticking clocks and fragmented memories.
The slight screeching of the ambience was rather unpleasant to the ears.
"We should be there anytime now. Approximately 59 seconds from now." Sylvie said calmly.
They seemed rather calm despite the circumstances.
"So. What's the Singularity like this time?" Felix asked.
"Not sure. But given the circumstances, it probably involved a figure we knew." Sylvie's focus was fixed on her watch as she replied.
Felix whistled.
"Hm..maybe Edison? Mark Twain? Or.. perhaps even Queen Victoria herself!" He suggested.
Sylvie leaned in closer and grabbed his mouth — shutting it in place.
"Don't spoil it." She warned.
Felix tried to retort but his words were muffled by Sylvie's palm.
In the next second, Sylvie felt a tingling sensation on her palm. A wet and soft object was pressing against her skin.
"Ew!" She realized it was his tongue licking her palm.
She pulled away and slapped him across the face, making his fedora float around them.
"Ow!" Felix yelped.
"You're a disgusting big brother!" She screamed at him.
But soon enough, a white dot of light appeared beneath them — their destination was near.
The dot grows bigger into a white hole as the siblings descend the wormhole.
At the last second, Felix desperately grabbed his fedora before the white hole absorbed both of them whole like a vacuum.
Meanwhile, in the real world, a sudden pocket dimension tore open the air like fabric as Sylvie jumped out of it — landing safely on her feet.
"W-woah!" Felix exclaimed as he fell out of the pocket.
However... he wasn't so fortunate as he landed squarely on his back inside a bush nearby.
"Oof!"
Sylvie rolled her eyes, pretending she did not notice her brother's antics.
She pulled out a handkerchief and wiped her germ-stained palm before placing the Retroact Briefcase on the ground.
When she opened it, there was an advanced military-grade monitor inside the briefcase powered by a strange energy.
Sylvie got to work and initiated the first protocol.

Sylvie hit send and closed the briefcase. She looked over her shoulder to see Felix still inside the bush.
Turns out, he's not injured. He is just.. slacking off like usual.
"How long do you plan to lie there? Get up now." She commanded.
"Mm.. maybe just a few more minutes? Time traveling is exhausting, you know.." He said with a half-conscious tone.
Sylvie's eye twitched, she pulled out the script and flashed it in front of him.
Sensing danger, he quickly pulled himself to his feet and stretched his arms.
"On second thought! Let's go! We got a detective mission to do! Haha.. ha.."
Felix cleared his throat
"So.. can you please put that script away?" He pleaded — clasping his hands together.
Sylvie put away the script and sighed.
"Enough joking around. We need to identify the Singularity, and then we need to destroy the seed of all this chaos. And this time, don't wander off too far away from me." Sylvie briefed.
Felix scratched his head and looked at his surroundings.
"But everything seemed peaceful here. I don't see any trace of abominations in this district."
Sylvie tapped her chin, planning their next course of action.
"I think we landed a few blocks away from the actual danger. If we split up now, we might be able to gather more info—"
Before she could finish her sentence, loud screams and shouts from nearby pedestrians attracted their attention.
"M-monsters! Save yourselves people!" A passerby shouted.
The sudden commotion throws the once peaceful moment into a scene of terror as a hideous-looking creature suddenly appears out of thin air.
Passerby ran away frantically in desperate attempts to escape death.
"Looks like we were not far from trouble after all." Felix unsheathed Blade of Jericho — eager for some real action.
"Looks like conflicts can't be avoided here either." Sylvie pulled out her own weapon named White Out, a revolver with a black and white design.
A bright shade of purple energy radiates from the revolver's muzzle and chambers.
"Let's give them a wake-up call." Sylvie loads the Chambers of the revolver.
When the siblings tried to step forward to stop the chaos, a sudden blare from police automobiles stopped them on their path.
The officers arrived at the scene just in time.
"Stay back citizens! This is an official matter!" The officer commanded.
The officers set up a barricade using their vehicles while aiming their firearms at the abominations.
"On my mark! Fire!" The officer screamed out.
The sounds of gunfire filled the air as they shot at the marching abominations.
However... Their attempt was futile, the abominations were completely unharmed and unscathed as if the bullets went through their body.
"What..?" The officers at the scene halted their fire, lowering their weapons in shock.
Yet the abominations just kept on marching towards the policemen. One of them grabbed the bumper of the automobile and lifted the car from the ground with its strength.
"What in bloody hell?!"
Terrified, the officers ran away in fear and fled the scene while some of them kept on shooting.
The abominations threw the vehicle in Felix's way but he sliced through the car like it was made of butter.
Meanwhile, a police officer was struggling to escape and was cornered by the abominations.
"Fuck.. Lord I'm going to die..!" he closed his eyes and clasped his hands together in prayer.
The abominations grabbed the officer by the waist level as he struggled desperately against their strong grip.
Seeing this, Felix didn't hesitate. He signaled at Sylvie with a nod as she raised her revolver at the abomination.
In the blink of an eye, Felix sprinted towards the monstrous creature — outrunning Sylvie's bullet.
He sliced off the monster's arm as the bullet pierced through its heart.
It then collapsed to the ground with a thud.
Felix glanced down at the traumatized officer who seemed confused and lost at the moment.
"Go now. While you still have a chance." Felix ordered with a commanding tone.
The man snapped out of his dizziness and nodded frantically before fleeing the area — occasionally stumbling.
Felix watched him go with a sigh of relief before turning to Sylvie.
"Well, ready for another round?" He asked with a smug grin.
"Target acquired."
