"It's not precognition, but rather some power to see through True Names?" Lelouch didn't care much about how many Kings "Britannia" had; instead, he was more concerned about Archer's situation. Despite only exposing his Knightmare Frame, the other party had spoken his True Name instantly. This strange phenomenon led Lelouch to judge that the other party possessed some kind of magical power, though he was unclear exactly how much Archer could see through.
For Saber, Archer's words were far more impactful. Britannia had perished long after her time, and she had never heard of Lelouch. Where did this so-called "King of Britannia" come from? Furthermore, judging from Rider's attire and the mecha he piloted, he didn't look like a King of the past at all.
"It seems you can only see through True Names, not all origins," Lelouch said, tentatively probing Gilgamesh.
"Hmph, don't underestimate this King's power."
"It is a rare exception for me to use it."
"After all, there are many mongrels of strange origins among you!" Archer responded with his arms crossed, snorting coldly.
Sha Naqba Imuru (The Omniscient Omnipotent Star). That should have been the Noble Phantasm he "disliked" the most. As long as he wished, he could view the entire world and know everything. Not only his opponent's True Name and Noble Phantasm, but even hidden truths were laid bare. Once activated, the Holy Grail War became like reading a script; everything about his opponent could be controlled. It was simply too boring, so he generally wouldn't use it.
The reason he used it this time was that Gilgamesh sensed a strange sense of incongruity from Berserker. Sure enough, after checking, he discovered a significant problem.
The "information" Sha Naqba Imuru could feed back was too little! It merely revealed the True Name and Class; most details were blocked by some power and couldn't be seen at all.
'It seems his power is more than this, but it must be restricted.' Probing Archer's gloomy expression for intelligence, Lelouch pondered. Exposing his True Name actually didn't affect him much. He had researched the history of this world; the Britannia here had perished long ago and didn't possess such capabilities. No one could truly understand his origin.
"Answer me, Rider! Are you really the King of Britannia?"
"What is your wish in participating in this war?!"
Someone seemed to care deeply about his identity. Looking down, Saber appeared quite emotional.
"Is it necessary for me to answer you?" Lelouch didn't understand why Saber was so moved.
Hearing this, Saber seemed lost for an instant, but then, as if coming to a decision, she clenched her teeth.
"If you don't answer my question, I will mark you as the first target to be defeated in this war!" She spoke on impulse, disregarding everything else. It seemed unreasonable, but Lelouch's existence was of utmost importance to Artoria.
Her own wish was to "save" the perished Britannia and its people. She couldn't accept that Britannia had fallen because of her, so she believed that if she returned to the time of Selection and a more suitable candidate replaced her as King, perhaps the destiny of destruction could be changed.
There had to be someone who could do better than her... someone able to lead Britannia to prosperity and glory, avoiding its demise. Lelouch's existence tensed her nerves. If a new, strange "King of Britannia" truly appeared, did it mean her path was correct?
"You've been entangled by a troublesome one, Rider," Waver murmured in a low voice from the cockpit, watching the two staring at each other. He couldn't figure out Rider's origin either. The King of Knights had legends as the King of Britannia, but in history, there had never been a King of Britannia named "Lelouch."
"If you insist on this, then..."
"Consider your words a declaration of war against the Holy Britannian Empire!" Lelouch raised the constructed Holy Sword, pointing it at Saber and speaking in a powerful voice. The sword lacked a sublimated legend, being merely a fake "Sword of Promised Victory" in appearance. After all, his Britannia did not advocate for such "Holy Swords."
"Is that so?" Understanding the metaphor in his answer, Saber seemed to breathe a sigh of relief before lowering her head. The opponent had admitted it... That was enough. A new King of Britannia... If possible, she truly wanted to see what the opponent's country was like. Although she still didn't know his specific wish, Saber felt a new sense of hope. Knowing Rider's truth, she felt it didn't even matter if she gave up the struggle.
"Baffling..." Jonouchi stood up, watching their interaction, completely unable to comprehend.
"Yeah, I can't understand Kings and their drama either."
But Kyoko Sakura's attack from behind caused Jonouchi to break out in a cold sweat. She wanted to find a way to lift the magic circle quickly before more accidents happened.
Bang!
"Oops! That's dangerous! Are you trying to kill me?" Jonouchi dodged a bramble chain, waving his hand and shouting.
"Oh? Is there a rule against killing in this war?" Kyoko Sakura asked, making Jonouchi feel awkward.
"You're so young, don't have such dark thoughts!"
"Despicable adults have no right to say that!" The two argued back and forth noisily.
Smack!
"Hmm?"
"That is a reward."
Hearing the sound above, Kenshin raised his hand and caught a falling divine sword. He looked at the weapon in astonishment; judging by its appearance, the sword must have a legendary background.
"As a subject, fight well for the King."
"It would be a loss of this King's face if you were defeated due to an inferior weapon."
"I am extremely grateful!" Holding the sword, Kenshin responded seriously, given their respective positions. Anyone who knew Gilgamesh would be shocked; it was rare for the "King" to bestow a treasure. Ordinary people could never obtain such things from him.
Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi (Grass-Cutting Sword). This was the legendary sword in Kenshin's hand, a "Divine Artifact" of Japan. Although he couldn't release a Noble Phantasm, as long as he had a sword, his swordsmanship had room to excel.
'Magical energy and heavy armor have both recovered...' Glancing at Berserker, Archer's attention was focused. The reason he gave Assassin the sword was to provoke a fiercer fight and probe his background. Gilgamesh determined that Berserker's origin was far from simple. As a King, entering the field personally was beneath him, so he chose a subject to act in his stead.
