Rah's door opened, and Damian walked in without knocking. He had spent the last few days convincing his wives that he would remain on Earth, and the arguments had been exhausting enough on their own. Hazel wanted to leave immediately. Racheal wanted a contingency plan. Ruby wanted permission to hunt down anyone who came near the estate. Through all of it, Damian had not seen Rah even once.
The moment he entered her room, he understood why.
The room was almost completely dark. Thick curtains covered the glass wall, shutting out the daylight, while the windows remained tightly closed. The air felt stale and cold. Rah sat on the floor in the far corner with her knees drawn close to her body, her long hair falling over one shoulder. The moment she sensed Damian enter, her eyes opened and released a faint azure glow through the darkness.
