The man pounced on her. His hand was outstretched as he tried to reach for Leah, and when she dodged, the man released an enraged growl. He stared at her with menace, and a second later, he was advancing at Leah with a pace that told her that the man was about to rip her heart out of her chest.
She had wounded his pride by denying him the claim that he had on her, and that was a big no-no for any shifter. Even if the claim was temporary, the man had it on her because he had purchased her and made her his for the night.
"You dare defy me?" the man snapped; his voice carried an edge of anger and cruelty. "Your words suggest that I have no claim on you when your mother told me otherwise. I have paid fifty thousand dollars for you, Omega. You need to understand your position," He snarled at her. "So you better lie down on the bed and open your legs for me before I lose whatever patience that I have at the moment."
Leah felt her heart clench when she heard the crude words of the man. If she had hoped for any kind of sympathy or maybe even a trace of humanity from this man, it went down with a poof. Leah knew that the man was not going to let her go. She wished these damned restraints would loosen and stop holding her back. If she had the chance, then she would run — as far and fast as she could. Even if it meant going feral.
Risking becoming a rogue looked like a much better option than going through whatever this man had in his mind for her.
This man is dangerous. If I don't escape now, then maybe I might never even see the sun rise, thought Leah. She could smell the scent of blood from the man, and it was strong enough to give her goosebumps.
However, how was she supposed to escape? She didn't understand. If she jumped down from the window now, then she was going to risk getting her legs broken or, worse, cracking her spine in half. If such a fate met her, Leah knew that Florin would turn her into something even more disgusting than just a prostitute for a night.
She couldn't have that.
But if she didn't run, then it would mean losing her life. Either way, her outcome was horrifying.
"Come here, you!" The man launched himself at her. This time, his pace was even faster than before. Leah turned her body to one side and rolled onto the floor. It was an undignified fall that hurt, but hoorah for her. She didn't even wince as the wooden boards smacked her hard on her bottom.
However, just as she rolled on her back, the man got to his feet. With Leah's feet in restraints, she was not as quick as the man, allowing the man to catch her by the restraints and pull her close.
"You really do not understand your situation, do you?" the man growled. Pulling the key from his pants, he unlocked the restraints that were tied around her ankles. The metal fell on the floor with a harsh thudding sound.
Leah grimaced at the sound. There was no helping it; she was sensitive to noises, especially when her own head was so loud.
But there was no time to waste; the second her feet were freed, she raised her feet and kicked the man on the shin. The shifter staggered backwards, and Leah scrambled to her feet before bolting towards the door, hoping that the door was still open for her to escape.
She didn't even take three steps when the man behind her caught hold of her shoulder. His claws dug deep into her skin as he pulled her back and hurled her down on the floor. After being denied twice, the man had lost his patience.
His actions turned harsh, and his eyes turned cruel as he reached out and pressed Leah underneath him.
"No—" Leah cried out. She was still young and filled with hopes and ambitions, even if the Moon Goddess had written the worst kind of fate for her.
The sound of flesh hitting flesh echoed in the room, and a second later, Leah felt her cheek burn with a lashing, hot pain.
"Do you still not understand your situation, omega?" The man's voice thundered in her ears. The shadows on his face turned heavier and darker.
Leah's chest started to constrict. Each breath started to come shorter than the one before; she could feel the man release his alpha vibes in the room, which filled the small space until she could no longer breathe. Leah could feel herself gasping for air as her face twisted into a pained expression that was filled with submission.
The alpha watched her without showing any signs of mercy. He stared down at her, his alpha vibes thickening and pulsating even harshly in the room with each passing second. He was trying to make a statement by letting Leah know how easy it was for him to crush and kill her.
His eyes stared at her unfazed, with a hint of mockery in those dark pits that were darker than the pits of hell.
With his lips curled in a satisfied smirk, the man watched her.
And her? She was rolling on the floor with agony coursing in her veins. Her heart was thudding inside her chest as an invisible pressure built within it and at the back of her head. The alpha's power felt like an overwhelming tide that drowned her without letting her get even a single chance to break through the surface.
It suffocated her, and at the same time, it pressed down on her like a heavy hammer, which made it impossible for her to get back up on her feet.
With her back firmly pressed on the floor, Leah could only watch the man as he slowly advanced on her. His hands reaching out to strip her of the last remaining dignity that she was holding onto—
"AHHHHH!!!"
